I am new to online investing. I just opened an account with Sogotrade and everything seems pretty good for my purpose of mainly long-term investing with some swing trades mixed in.

I've initiated about 5 positions so far and the executions have all been very fast, with fills in about 1-2 seconds.

You get 25 free trades. Choice of $3/trade or $10/month + $1.50/trade.

I want to ask if anyone knows anything about this firm. I mainly wanted the 25 free trades, but I can't find hardly any reviews either positive or negative about them. They're registered with FINRA, SIPC. They are a subsidiary of Genesis Securities.

Anyone have any experience with them?

No, I don't.

I use zecco (http://friends.zecco.com/r/1924bfe46515102b8555), there are reviews of it. It gives 10 free trades as long as you have 2500 invested. It is insured for up to 500,000 in case it goes belly up. The community is supportive and allows members to share their positions. Plus right now they are giving away China Shakes the World by James Kynge if you're referred by a member.

The only caveat is the signup process is long, so call their customer service if you need help.

First, I know I am way late but for others just reading too.... I have used them and it worked out just fine. I took off for a while trading due to my work load @ work and at my house but about ready to start back.

I would use them for at least the free stuff. Good prices on everything.

I've just started up an account with them. The website is very nice and interactive. The only thing so far thats been somewhat of a headache is the application and setup. You have to send in forms with a signature and photo id or passport copy. I think it will be worth it though since I'm currently using sharebuilder which is really nice but the 9.95 trade fees are killing me since I'm just getting started. $20 to buy and sell something really has to be factured in before making trades with the little bit I have in my account.

Here's my referral code 462559. Right now u get 100 free trades which is another reason I started an account since that can help me get my feet off the ground. The only thing is they only last a month. Well Happy Trading!

Isn't it $25,000?

Heres what it says on the website:

Get 10 free stock trades every month when you maintain a $25,000 balance or execute 25 trads each month. Otherwise its just $4.50 per trade.
