Pick a stock from $2.00 - $5.00 that trades no less than 100k shares daily volume that you think will go up in the next five days.
Select an entry price (like a market order), the stock must trade at that price within the next 5 days for your pick to be activated.
If the stock price gaps over or does not trade at that price during intraday swings you are not qualified.
The challenge plays till fridays close where I will calculate who won and post it on the thread.
The reward is yours to keep! The experience of fine tuning your ability to select a stock that is going to go higher. ( and that is cash in the bank for you) and of course bragging rights that you won..
Rules
1. stock priced between 2.00 - 5.00
2. volume of no less than 100k daily
3. entry price must be achieved during daily market 9:30 - 4:00 times (no pre market or after hour prices allowed)
4. no cramer picks from friday's show
5. one ticker per forum member
6. a ticker can be used once per challenge - if you want to use the same ticker for next week you must call it first after Friday's market close (4:00 est)
7. once an entry and ticker is selected and posted, there is no changing the entry or ticker.
8. entries for next challenge opens at Friday's market close (4:00 pm EST) and closes at midnight Sunday (12:00 pm EST)
(I'm starting a new thread to keep it under control. You can see last week's game here:

You have to pick stocks priced above $2 but if the stock is currently trading below that, it has to swing to $2 to get in. 1.95 is not allowed.

Oooops! My bad. I keep forgittin da $2 thangy and that the rule means you can pick one from below 2.00 as long as yer pick IS 2.00 :) So, I'll still take GNBT @ 2.00 fer $6418 even though it might just trade below $2, Confused? Good. :)

About GNBT? I said on Wed of last week that I wouldn't even consider it unless it broke to $2.25 minimum. :) If you mean confused about the game you are correct. But sooner or later you will change every rule to the point where no more rule changes will be possible. And if you want to argue about that I guess we can....but why baaatha?! :)

Englishman, quick question: If the chosen stock opens LOWER than the member's target entry, do they not get the opening price - like a limit buy order?
If so, the following corrections should be made:
Englishman26 - ARTG - 3.26
BigDawg291 - AGEN - 2.90
Just wondering.

Can we short next week?
englishman26
03-27-2006, 11:28 PM
I'm of against shorting being included. We could have a seperate game but I'm not running it!
And no we don't really do limit orders although I sort of think we should.
Maybe people could vote on this or put in their penny's worth.

I no longer have the desire to maintain the weekly challenge. If you do not want to run it either, end the game this weekend.. maybe thierry could find somone to run it.
thanks for your valuble time sir..

If you use Excel, this could be helpful.
www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=485FCCD8-9305-4535-B939-3BF0A740A9B1&displaylang=en). Excel and stock tracking seem like a natural fit. Excel is the most often used analytical application for tracking markets, so it's puzzling that the program does not come with a real, built-in market-tracking system. This lack is just one of the reasons that the MSN Money Stock Quotes add-in is so popular.
MSN Money Stock Quotes can track multiple stocks within an Excel workbook.
MSN Money Stock Quotes adds a toolbar to Excel spreadsheets. The toolbar lets you insert stock quotes into a selected cell or range of cells. You can choose from 23 types of tracking information, including Last Price, 52 Week High, 52 Week Low, and P/E Ratio. The add-in formats the cells and includes column headers to help organize the information.
You can easily update the stock information by clicking the Update Quotes button in the MSN Money Stock Quotes toolbar. The MSN Money Web site supplies all quotes, which are subject to a 15- to 20-minute delay. Stock updates are limited to once every five minutes.

Englishman - I thought something looked fishy on Cris as I didn't see the big drop today on my watchlist and then it hit me...it opened on Monday at $2.37 and closed the previous Friday at $2.40 according to EOD data from yahoo.com. That might make me feel a little better on my choices, not great but almost break even at least.

just a slight error in the standings posted,, LVLT is up 22%, not EBOF,, no harm done
Traders may well do a bit of profit taking on this one, but after today's investors and analyst conference ( the first in past 2 years ), all news was positive for the company. Guidance for the quarter and year was raised, and I think we'll see more to the upside than downside. Looking for $6 by Friday

Believe it or not the one to watch on this list is DMX on any break of 3.20. I think it will rally through 3.90. Watch GNBT too of course since it is now rallying off a sell signal and the OBV is still waaaaay up there close to 30 mil, I may jist getme 2.00 at da close on Fri and I reserve that pick fo next week! :) Oh yeah, you can also watch LVLT's entire 30%+ gain disappear....that's always fun...I think so anyway. :)

We have to suffer black Fri. It's going to be hectic.
I heard a couple of nods to tech on CNBC. I don't think it'll jump too much being it's a Friday though.

Cramer went absolutely balistic on last night's Completely Insane Money. He rattled off at least 10-15 grossly overpriced tech pigs that he still wants fokes to buy. And that list of 5 stocks he came up with that included FFIV and AKAM is just gonna get fokes who buy at these levels absolutely deeeeeestroyed! In fact, his buy call on FFIV is going to be responsible for establishing yet another long term top as it just needs to take out the 52 week high. Thanks Jim! LOL

I'm just tryin ta get me bankroll up! :) The overall best performer you ever had playing this game doesn't play any longer....but I think he said he'd be back soon. I don't see any real value in the top 3 finishers this week personally. In fact....I used this past week's strength to add LVLT as a short! :) I like the game because it is a good screen for the type of stocks I like....somebody brought WFII to our attention fo instance. I like it! From a lower level of course as I'm sure yuns might imagine. I am even thinking of playing one that yet sumbody else brought to everyone's attention. To play it I'll have to catch a falling knife....and I'm deciding if I wanna do that or play the type of crap that finished out ahead this week....but play it above da mawket. I got a bankroll to purrtect ova heeeeya! *-)
