Allright I have been looking at solar fun for a while but have missed my chance to get in at 14.Now its at 23 would anyone here consider putting new capital into this stock at its current price? I like to keep in mind that this stock was valued at 40 but let me know what everyone thinks.
I'm a fairly new trader and have lost my behind in other stocks(syx,wm) so I'm a bit shaky when It comes to buying stocks have a huge fear it will go down like those two did 3 months ago.

You can avoid losing your behind by placing trailing stops. Say 5% or so should mitigate your losses. Since your relatively new to trading/investing I will assume you haven't heard that the key is to limit your losses and let your winners run. You could have five stocks in your portfolio, three could drop, one do nothing, and one move higher, but if you cut your losers and ride the winners you can still make money.

thanks for the info much apprciated but besides cutting my losses and knowing when to get out. If I have intentions in buying solf it will be my only stock in my portfolio I will eventually purchase more in other places but for the time being any suggestions on this stock? Is it a buy short or just stay away from let me know and thanks

Well its up 23% today, you might wanna wait a day or two and let it settle down, Some buyers will be prone to "earnings phobias" and may sell before the earnings to "ring the register" and take some of the profits off of the table. Or if you feel like the momentum is strong enough...jump in. Ultimately as always, its your money, so its your decision. I think it may get a nice pop on earnings seeing as the solars are so hot, and on top of that I don't see any serious resistance ahead. Some could argue that its up nicely already, but it doesn't matter. There was no news to accompany the rise, pure spec.
If it was ME I would watch it for a red day or a day with practically no gain, 1-2%, then I would enter and ride it through the earnings.
JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION.

yeah, the pullback may not be that strong, so be vigilant and calculated.

i agree with supreona, wait a couple of days before hopping in. it looks pretty overbought and has to at least pull back a little. it looks pretty impressive to close near its high of the day too
