how many of you have given up listening to him....? I enjoy surfing on this forum more ffor the input and the true realities...I am really turned off by the verbal pump-ups, the afterhour trading jack-ups and the fact that seems like the calls are set-ups...
Now I am trying to get a good understanding of trading terms, methods and chart analysis...
I use to watch his show when i could... now I just surf this forum and check out the posted nightly cramer list to see what crapola is listed...hoping to find a diamond that he isn't just pumping up...
recently I have really been into the IBD100 and pick one up every now and then from the stand to see what is hot in the top 20 of the 100.... that and bracketed buys is my current way to go for now...
I use the IB webtrader (can't use TWS at work due to firewall) and it is good enough for me.... the TWS is pretty sharp, but just too many features/options.... makes my eyes bleed....

He actually knows his art--The Stock Market is definitely NOT a science--but the problem is his show is nitely TV and thus he has to fill about 45 minutes to separate the ads 5 days a week, and many times he is just jabbering. If you will watch it carefully, you can learn a lot if by nothing else arguing back at him. His show of 3/13/06 was excellent, because he explained why he is so into fiber optics, plus he gave a time line for this sector to cool. Disagree with him, fine, but do it with facts you can prove to yourself as you argue at your TV :). You will be pleasantly surprised at how useful your knowledge becomes. NOOOOOOOOOOO-O you do NOT rush out and buy his picks--Let the after hour traders and the lemming test market a stock for a week, and then see how the stock is doing.

I still watch, I think he provides good insight to the market pysche and he is entertaining. I haven't otten suckered into one of his picks for a long time. When I first started to watch him and knew next to nothing about the market, I chased SWB on his reccomendation. I learned real fast not to do that again.
However I will say, this forum has made me more money than Cramer!

I started watching last summer and bought into "cpst." I learned from this jewel the fine art of buying high and selling low. Ohmygawd, how Cramer pumped this stock. To help in my denial I went to the Yahoo Message Board on this stock. I wanted to rationalize I was not seeing what I saw. Another lesson I learned was how to set a Trailing Stop to Sell on anymore Cramer picks! I made money on Sirius--no thanks to Cramer, and "ayti" thanks to Cramer exactly when to dump the stock--He is good when he wants to be. Again, the main problem is learning how to pick the diamond from the rough he has to spew to fill a show. I am always on the look out for his next Capston--what he was doing with Sirius way, way too long. Thanks to his technique with "ayti," I dumped "siri" with a Trailing Stop the day after Stern was on "60 Minutes," while Cramer kept pumping. Actually, I was surprised at his "siri" pump. Oh, I did the same with "jdsu" when I sensed "Capstoning" by Cramer. So far, I dumped out just right.
This is a good site. Thankfully, no flaming! Hope Cramer or his people visit here. They could learn a lot.

Wait till his Anniversary Show. I am waiting to gag. Gawd, hope Trump ain't on it! W-what a waste :( Sadly, Trump has bred, so now in the wings, we have such a la-de-da beautiful, smart daugh-tuh and a macho, handsome smart son, whom both no doubt will end up on the Anniversary SuckUp Show :(
CRAMER, IF YOU ARE READING THIS!! I WANT A STOCK SHOW ON YOUR ANNIVERSARY--NOT YOUR #@%$^ BUD-DIES OR SOME OBSEQUIOUS AND/OR PEDANTIC AUDIENCE!!

You know Cramer is starting to remind me of Emril from the Food network.
Back in 1995 I had Mono and was in bed for three weeks and came across the Foodnetwork at 3AM and was hooked! And I became a big fan of Emril. Anyhow, Emril over the years became way to comercialized and lost a lot of his appeal to me as a chef, he played to much to his live audiance and became more of a clown TV personality than a chef.
I sorta see Cramer going down this path, trying for good TV rather than a good stock show. I do not think that Cramer has "Jumped the Shark" just yet, some of you may think he did, but I think he is sorta heading down that path.

I fully expect CramerLand to go sitcom with either him playing himself or some up and coming comedian like the late bloated, big mouth, hyper Sam (I think his last name was) Kaston. Cramer at this point has in neon "I wants to beez tha next 'Emril'."

I said the same thing about burning out like "Emeril" back in Jan...

I'll have to admit my boner on cramer's recommendation is Encanna.
I dont have a lot of it, but it's down 10% and I'll hold it until it either goes back up - or the company goes out of business. It's just a corner of my portfolio reminding me of my earlier trade days.

Wow! You are learning. When Cramer pumps, you dump! What do you think he is doing when all the lemmings chase one of his stocks unimaginable high?
I have tried on numerous occassions through faxes and emails to get Jim to understand how things work out here in the real world. You are right, he could learn alot. When he was paying the street kazillions of dollars in commissions, he got whatever he needed to make money. Out here in the real world, we work on fundamentals, techincals, and honest to god hard work to make money in our investments. There is so much he has to learn about the street, but now that he is a succesful entertainer, what does he care about making money in stocks??? There is a lesson there for anyone who is still following him into the market....

Will Cramer spread himself so thin he will burn out?
Will Tony Soprano still be with us for another great season on HBO?
Will Cramer wake up and replace Tony S? Cramer would be a good replacement to keep "The Sopranos" going for another season on HBO. Cramer could involve Wall Street...(I would prefer this to "CramerLand," the TV sitcom with a totally canned audience guffaws!)

I liked Cramer a lot more and listened when i could before he became the icon he is now. Back in 2003 and even up until he went on at CNBC he was great. I learned a ton and he reinvigorated my interest n the market. As recently as early 2004 he was spot on. Anyone remember GERQY? His acronym for Google, eBay, Research in Motion, Qualcomm, and Yahoo!. He pretty much nailed that one. Too bad I was in the rudimentary stages of figuring out the markets; I couldn't act. Not to say I know everything, that would be arrogant, but I didn't know jack back then other than what Cramer said and the basics that my Grandfather taught me; essentially how to read the stock charts in the paper.
I was elated when I saw him on CNBC one night by accident channel surfing back in April-May. I thought he was very informative. i tracked his results and he hit it big in companies like MRO, GOOG, and I even remember him recommending TreeHouse back in June. But anymore with his uber-followership his picks are ruined. That and the pressure to focus on 3 stocks a night and do that damned lightning round his product is sub-par these days.
I don't much follow him anymore. I'll listen to him on CNBC in the background when I'm doing work on the computer. But I haven't listened to his radio program since he left WOR. Oh well, all good things must come to an end.

CramerLand is at the fork of the road: is he going to strut his true knowledge or is he going to continue down the Professional Wrestling Road show for the fast buck...He should incidently offer his newsletter free that keeps up with his picks, because CNBC is paying him so much and his core audience is Newbies. It is shameful this newsletter is sold at the price it is, considering...

Excellent book. Excellent show for a month.
Now, I grimace while I watch it (and I still watch it when I can). His antics get annoying, but I don't blame him. The worst part is how everyone that calls up takes a few minutes to get to their stock. I fast forward until they do.
"Hi Jim! Booyaah!! Happy Birthday!! Great Book!!!! Here is someone who wants to say hi -- 'boooyaah!!!' *kid's voice*!! Love your show! .......... How about GOOG?"

Tonite, on his Anniversary show I will no doubt burn Fast Forward--At the first sighting of Donald Trump, my Fast Forward will go into warp speed...If Trump brings on his kids, I will shoot my vcr!

Ditto to what MCD stated, and add the book is still worth a read as the strategy is valid. But the on air product now is so washed out it's virtually worthless. I still have him on at night because it's entertaining and I still hope for a nugget, but tonight I'll pass. I wonder if there are still bumps on the stocks he pushes during reruns, that would be interesting to see as a study in lemming behavior.

Lol. I wonder if he'll finally do it. Pull down Trump's trousers and kiss it Jim. You know you want to.
I can't stand how he loves this guy so much. Wasn't Trump born in to the position he's in? I remember something about his father already having an established position in the real estate market. How anyone like Cramer who worked his way to the top can fawn over a product of nepotism like Trump is beyond me.
