Is any one else having problems with logging into Scottrade this morning. It take a while to load and once you are on, you can't refresh.

I sold 500 sh of PTSC this morning. Order was received and took 1:50 min to execute. Stock had rose .10 cents during this 2 minute period. Did not receive better price!!! I have DSL and not happy with Scottrade. To be fair most trades are executed okay but you get what you pay for.

For your info, Scottrade routes your order thru a company that Scottrade's founder holds 1,000,000 shares. Anyone happy with thier direct access broker?

Thanks

I've only had one problem like this happen to me aside from today. It was back in 2003 where I couldn't login at all. I had to call the branch and they placed the order for me to sell the stock. But by then I had already lost $1500 in profit. I couldn't really place a formal complaint since the broker said that it affected everyone. After that, I took out 80% of my money and put it into Ameritrade.

I still use Scottrade today but not for day trading.

Can't find where I saw this, but I'm sure a call to Scottrade would confirm this. Scottrade helped pioneer lower rates but you don't have direct access to ant ECN. My only problems with Scottie are slow executions when daytrading and penny stock pricing. For an occasional trade, Scottie is okay.

ECN?

No problems for me, but I don't daytrade. I stick with limit orders and if doesn't get filled it's usually b/c it was never matched.

I cant get the streamer to work at all even after checking my system for popups. That frustrates me. Im trying out the yahoo realtime market streamer. The main thing I dont like with Scottrade is the fact I have to wire money into my account. In the future that will be fixed. I hate seeing a good thing happen before my eyes and no money to get at. The other thing I dislike is the high fee for foreign stocks, but I have found they are not any cheaper elsewhere. I wish they had a built in converter to foreign stocks so you can see where the profit actually is.

I am going to moove my ira to bank of america. I will then get free trades up 30 free ones per month. I am really fed up with scottrade myself. The manager at one of them seems to have a hate for women, and when i filed a complaint, he is still the manager, and i am wondering if any one knows if your peticular trade screen can be messed with. Since i filed the complaint i have had a series of can't trade, and refresh won't work, put in orders and they says site is down, but i see stocks changing on the screen. Just a thought and hoping to nail this down. If this manipulation is possible then we all need to start letting the corporte office know , or the sec to check. Looking forward to free trades anyway.

I've never had any problems with them except when they block trading on the really risky stocks or fishy manipulated ones, as I tend to invest in high risk variety. But I guess this can be a safety feature for other members. No problems with them tho.
