Has anyone tried any of Bernie Schaeffer's options "newsletters"? They go by lots of names and have different prices (Some cheap, and some expensive). I tried looking around online, and I couldn't find any forums talking about him, mostly his websites.

I subscribe to one of his services, just like anything else out their, I use it as an opinion and decided if I want to enter the trade or not. He has some good picks and then some bad.

As with most of the services out there, figures don't lie, but liars can use figures to say anything they want to.

You can contact them by phone and ask them to e-mail the results for the current and past years for any of their services, on closed trades, (obviously, they won't send you a list of open trades for free)

If you look at the actual results for just about any period considering all of their picks, the results are not as good as what they lead you to believe in their advertisements, but who would expect anything else.

In most cases, you would be better off to just pin up a list of options on the wall, then throw a dart at it to select your pick, then flip a coin as to which direction to take, put or call.

Schaeffer's daily website does have some good information on it to help you in making decisions, but I will not pay them for their picks, (anymore that is, I have in the past and was not impressed at all)

Actually, I have just subscribed his service (a free trial for six months). It seems his picks and option strategies are not better than mine. It seems most of his recommended options lost money eventually.

My strategy is: Select ten stocks with best performance and high option volume during the past 12 months in their sectors. Buy their calls at dips and sell at high, I can always make money.

Good luck.

Oh, for gosh-sakes!

You just subscribed [to a six-month free trail].
And you just joined the OTF [what a great coincidence.]

So...
You are going to keep us informed about the 'great picks' Bernie tells you about?
I can hardly wait.

But, it seems that your picks may be better than Bernie's.
No Problem, we can settle up on the score keeping in 6 months - assuming you keep us informed, of course.

No thing is surprising...

I accidentally found this forum from Google finance. I like Mr. Thierry Martin free service:

That is why I registered to join this forum.

It is not appropriate for me to publish Mr. Schaeffer's picks here. If you are interested, I would suggest you subscribe to his service to see what his performance will be.

Good luck with your investments.

Peter
