It goes without saying you can check his book out of the library...For magazines and newspapers, e.g., N.Y.T., WSJ, you have to subscribe to, then do this: if you have someone in college, get the student to share the ability to use the school's online library with you. This is also the cheapest way to read some very esoteric mags for stock tips. As for as hands-on books, libraries can make inter-library loan requests, so you can read such books as Benjamin Graham's, etc...If you find a book that is a good reference, check out eBay and the like to buy the book on the cheap...

Great tip. Forgot about my local college's library.

In Ga, libraries use a service called Galileo and each school from grammar to college subscribe to different services, so thus, either you or say your children have to be a staff member or student to use...In my case, I have free on line Wall Street Journal and the full N.Y. Times, as well as online books...Wish it subcribed to Cramer's favorite "Investor's Daily"

Its funny that you mentioned this because I just recently found out being a business major that my university has tons of online resources dedicated to the market in particular. I was delighted to find out that I have free access to barron's, wsj, chicago, forbes, etc through my school.

So many people are either students or parents of students and they fail to utilize what they are paying for. The only resource here in Ga I do not have is online "Investor's Weekly." I daily read WSJ and weekly Barron's.
