Scottrade users......Scottrade does not allow setting 2 orders on the same stock which equal more than the shares you own. For example: If you own 1000 shares of stock XXX, you cannot set a trailing stop for 1000 shares and a sell limit for 1000 shares. I can't watch the screen the entire day and have lost profits because: Stock pushes through my target sell and then drops. Trailing stop moves up, but not to the level of an acceptable sell. So....based on the "pop", the stock may settle or continue down....tripping the stop for a profit, but at a substantially lower level.

I don't play without stops or trailing stops so I have to "suck it up" if my target is hit and then recedes.

In talking with Scottrade today, the broker told me this was Scottrade policy and Elite is no different. He also said that pressure on the company will help get this resolved (business is business) as it has been a corporate "hot rock".

So.....those of you in the same boat, maybe add this to your comments on "User Feedback".

That is some BS. I didn't even consider placing the above scenario on a stock. But i'm still a rookie. It's a good idea though and I can see where if you weren't at the computer all day you would want to place multiple conditional orders. I'll bitch too.
