He does type something in to the computer almost each and every time a stock is mentioned. Notice he looks down and to the right often enough, quoting some values and numbers.
So what do you think? Does he know the stock a couple seconds before commenting on it?
Also notice - if he is commenting on something outside of lightning round, he does also type in, and say "it's ramping up, volume up/down, etc". He's GOT to have some information like this at his fingertips.

I am certain he and his screener(s) are "sharing" a computer terminal. I suspect that the callers are stacked on screen with their stock data already retrieved for his quick glance. He probably even has some large video off camera that has the stock graphics already displayed with "key" statistics. Behind all great showmen is the people that do all the work.

I guarantee the minute he says the caller's name, the stock and its info they are asking about appears on his screen. You notice sometimes he knows the stock even he doesn't hear the ticker etc??? He also plays it up and doesn't give his shtick before they clear it up with them but they are definitely on the screen. No big deal, it's not like he knows it beforehand. He doesn't need to. The call screeners basically only let thru the stocks they want...so he rarely would get caught off guard.

He does say his "people" prepare it for him on the fly. Meaning when calling they tell the people who answer the calls what they are calling about, then when he gets their name and city from the computer I am sure a small description or synopisis shows up.
The reason he may start talking without a ticker is probally because he is so familiar with the company, he does do this for a living.

But how do you explain that he knows the caller is talking about Cisco and no Sysco?
He has to have SOME info on the screen.

Thats exactly what I said, I am sure the people answering the phone ask the ticker symbol and name and a general question. Then before he takes the call he looks up their name and city and a small synopsis and general information also come up with it allowing him to use that information and run with it. Some he elaborates more on, since he is familiar with those and others he does not maybe since he just has the info on his screen.

The callers are prescreened. His people also prepare the graphics and data on the fly.

When you call in they ask you the stock you want to discuss. The stock has to have a certain daily volume or they will not let you talk about it. No lightly traded stocks get thru.

Its still pretty impressive
I'm sure they (the researchers/screeners) give him the latest quarterly earnings data, and maybe a stock chart or a description
Its clear Cramer knows his **** though... and I never used to be a fan.. but he's won me over.
