By the time you read this the Sirius/XM merger debate may be over, but let's learn from this to take to the next such debate involving government approval of something

Here, you are advising Pat Doe, who has no gender, race, or religion, but is a bureaucrat or politician

Pat has to decide on an issue involving Widget

Cramer is for it, or maybe against it, but either way, he is nightly vociferous in his stand

A decision by Pat will piss off some segment, so what would you advise Pat to do?

I would advise the following:

Making no decision is still a decision
Cramer's audience is small (at best 600,000)
More people are watching "I Love Lucy" than him
If a decision does not significantly impact the "American Idol," NASCAR, and/or ARRP demographics, then the squeal in the long term is meaningless

There are 3 steps in Problem Solving:
Ignore the problem, because usually like a good idea, problems will simply evaporate
If you must solve a Problem, "bubble gum" together a solution that will make the problem evaporate or you can pass it on or pass it off--Tip, Pat, motion for the sake of motion and jabber is usually sufficient

Only at this stage should you solve the problemPat, we are still at the first stage, so stay calm and speed slowly

Oh, Pat, you are doing fine, so look for a promotion, but if we do have to sacrifice you for the greater good (to cover our behinds), look for a book deal or hefty Get-Lost severance package :santaclaus:
