Hey guys,

So I've come to the pivotal point in life where I now have to decide trying to go to law school or go for an MBA. I was just wondering about your opinions and experiences as to pros/cons of going for either or. For the record, I really don't know what I want to do for a career... trading all day might not really be too much of an option?

All advice is greatly appreciated.

My Brother got his MBA then JD and seems to be ok. If you're not sure I would do the one that takes the least time.

Both can be cranked out in 2 years.

An MBA may seem more versatile on the surface but a JD can prepare you to be self-employed as a Will Creator or even work under a larger financial services firm doing estate plans for wealthy clients. You could also work for manifold governent organizations if you'd like. Anymore, some JD programs are competitively priced to some top tier MBA programs. It's amazing what these business schools are asking for a 2-year tuition.

Can you find a joint law/MBA program? My advice is to figure out what you want to do for your career then find out what the requirements are to do it. Nothing like wasting time and money on something only to find out it’s not needed for your career path.

Good luck :)
