oh man, big trouble with Nokia (NOK)
I bought at 19.60 and it's just gone down hill since, nearly 18.00 even. What should I do?

hold.
Argus just released a report minutes ago (1/27) that gives "buy" recommendation, with target price of $23.
If I could cut/paste the PDF here I would, but it wont let me select anything...
I have some too. I'm going to hold. It'll come back.

Ok u r down 10% not a disaster... personally I always use stop orders but its just me...
Why did u buy nokia anyway.. they will keep losing market share..
PS. I see you bought on the top.. never do that!
also, that downtrend seems scary and imho will continue til 17-17.50.
Hold and wait or sell and limit your loss.

Of course, you should do what YOU think is right.
Please don't get mad at me if it goes nowhere.
I gave you a suggestion, and told you what *I'm* going to do. I think Nokia is a good company.
my holdings is relatively small in my portfolio, so I can afford to hang on for a while.

Don't worry, be happy.
The sudden drop of the Nokia share price was due to the Q report. The Big Guys just try to push the price down and scare those chicken guys to sell off their stock. It will bounce back later. Saw that many many times. But it is ur $, nobody can tell you want to do. It is your decision.
Good luck.

Heh, I didn't know it was on top till it started going down.

You needn't worry, I won't get mad, I just wanted an outside opinion.

I see, that helps in my general view of it all.
Again, thankyou all for your help, I think I'll hold out for another month or so, and see how close it gets to that $23 mark.
Btw, how long do they think until it hits that mark?

Argus Rating: BUY
• BUY-rated Nokia Corp. posted a solid fourth quarter, executing on its strategy of building share in
underdeveloped markets while also bolstering its high-end market share.
• We are maintaining our 2006 EPS forecast for Nokia of 0.92 euro per diluted share. For 2007, we are
implementing an EPS forecast of 1.09 euros per diluted share. Our dollar-denominated estimates are
$1.12 per diluted ADR for 2006 and $1.33 per diluted ADR for 2007.
• Our financial strength ranking on Nokia is High and our long-term EPS growth projection is 11%.
• NOK ADRs trade at 19.8-times our euro-denominated 2006 pro forma forecast and at 16.8-times our
2007 projection, versus an historical P/E multiple in the mid-20s. Appreciation to our 12-month target
price of $23 implies a risk-adjusted total return of 21%, or about double the forecast 12-month total
return for the S&P 500.

If you want to stay within the industry, sell half on the bounce back and put that half into motorola and walk away for awhile, check back just before 1st quarter earnings both should be up around 10-20% Either way you're covered... I'm assuming this is not mad money, if it is, get out now...It's all about risk and your risk should be no greater than 1% of your total capital... you can and should always buy back at a lower price, I personally don't average down, much cheaper to keep risk @ 1% & buy back in before short term rallies ( mad money ). Go for the 5,10 and 15 % gains, it adds up and occasionally you'll hit a home run. Protect your capital to stay in the game...Long term investments, I check before earnings and always watch out for news...
Good luck!

I can't believe NOK made it through 19.00! And yer lookin for 23.00?!! 8O I will tell you where it goes on the next wave down though. And I'm purty sure the next wave down is gonna be another gapdown being that the OBV has actually been rising into this fall. That means fokes must believe Jim Cramer when he said this pig is a great long term hold so fokes be thankin that it's just becoming a better buy. This syndrome will apply to many stocks going forward so don't feel like they's be pickin on NOK when that next gapdown begins and drives all those fokes to the sidelines that's been tryin to bottom fish. Anywho, the next gapdown move will take NOK to no less than.....ready?....12.50! I came up wit dat numba based on da trend low at 18.10 that was put in on Mon. You can see that during the week they attempted to get it back up above 18.10 but failed to hold it and actually did a mini gap through it on Fri. Well they had better get this pig of a stock back up through 18.10 and hold it next time or da longs will be singin da blues! Da good news is that at 18.00 NOK only has to lose appx another 50% of its value in my books to be worthy of a blessing from me personally. So hang in there if ya must. Who knows, since Cramer likes it so much perhaps he'll give it the ole Cramer pump on Mad Money sometime soon. That's worth at least 10% in after hours trading based on the "idiot factor" :D Good luck to ya!

It's pretty tough to spot a top, especially when there be idiots like Cramer around touting crap as great long term plays. I guess it could have been worse. I mean...he could have bought MOT, anudder Cramer favorite. How will you know it's a top on MOT? When it rallies to 23.80 it'll be the top. Actually, it already topped out but there should be one mo sucker rally. Then the fall MOT is gonna take will make NOK look like child's play.

Technically, NOK may go down to $17.75 to fill the Gap Up of 12/08/2005, then it will bounce from there.

Regretted not selling at 19 though since I've been holding this stock since the low teens. Chart showed overbought, but I was hoping to sell at $20. Oh well.

Looks like NOK has formed a base at $18. Do not sell it here. My indicators are curling up and show that NOK will begin to move up.
