Because i hardly see any talk about European renewable company's here, wich i find strange because many of these company's can be very interresting, and partly on request, i have compiled a relative list of a large part of the European renewables sector. i mainly invest in European company's, less so in the USA. Partly because of a falling dollar, but that might change a bit in the future. Not all these stocks are in Euro's btw. Some are crowns or Swiss franks. The list is mainly wind and Solar. I might add some other renewable sector's on request, but as a list this can give quite an idea already.

Wind

- Vestas wind systems: World's largest wind turbine manufacturer. Denmark based. Very stable and good growing company. Went in a dip in januari but rebounded to it's near high again on good quarter results. I hold a significant position.

- Gamesa corp tecnologica: 2nd largest wind turbine manufacturer. Based in Spain. Good growth, went into a dip in january, i expect it to rebound at end of februari when they release their quarterly figures due to Vestas performance giving away extreme demand for turbine's. Same goes for the other turbine manufacturers. I hold a moderate position.

- Nordex AG. German based wind turbine manufacturer. Same story as Gamesa. I hold no position.

- Repower systems AG: Another german based wind turbine manufacturer. At an all time high now even after the january dip. Very volatile sideways movement with much low buying opportunity's and higher selling opportunity's on an average strong growing curve. High PE. I hold a small short term trading position in it.

- Theolia: Mainly a wind farmer, though has several other energy generating plants of various types. I have no position in it.

- Air energy SA: My favourite wind farmer, and pure wind farmer at that. Belgian based, cheap on commision for me since i'm Belgian Has several sites in Belgium and licenses to build more. Expects to tenfold revenue by 2012. Trading sideways regulary at 19.5 to 21.5. Has a buy advice with target 24 for 2007. Only gives results on a year bases, next transcript at the end of march. Said in november revenue and profit would likely be above expectations. I expect it to trade around 30 after march. I have a significant position it.

Solar:

-Q-Cells AG. Iirc Europe's largest solar cell producer and number 2 in the world for silicon cells.German based. Very good growth, fairly low PE atm for solar after the januari dip. Has contracts up to 2010. Has supplier contracts for silicon with for ex. LDK solar and Renewable energy corp. Owns shares in several European Thin film solar company's in development phase. Warned a few months ago that quarterly results would likely be high above expectations. I hold a moderate position in it. Q4 results of 2007 will be released this week.

-Renewable energy corp AS. Iirc worlds largest verticly integrated solar company. Norway based. Produces polysilicon, makes wafers, cells, panels, and sells and installs them. Has a very big profit compared to sales. Has lots of set contracts for the next years. Highly engaged in the development of more effeciant and cheaper solar panles. I hold a moderate position in it. Fairly low PE atm for a very promising company. Vertical intigration rocks imo, operating income of this company is 1/3rd of revenue's.

- Roth & Rau AG: Swiss based iirc. (wich can be a plus) On stock performance one could call this the "the european First solar" . Similar in stock performance to FSLR in 2007 going from something like 30 euro's to more than 250 euro's. The company roughly speaking produces the machinery to produce solar panels and cells of various types. Also engaged in Plasma and Ion beam technoligy. Stellar growth. Still has to give it's q4 results for 2007. High PE.(FSLR style) I own no position in it but have been short term trading it on certain points.

- Meyer Burger Technology AG: Very similar to Roth & Rau. Swiss based. Producer of equipment to make solar panels among others. Stellar growth, similar stock performance to Roth & Rau and FSLR. High PE. I have no position in it.

- Manz Automation AG: German based, another provider of solar producing equipment among others (like automatization) Strong stock performance, fairly high PE. I hold a small position in it. Planning to increase the position when automatization becomes even more important.

- Solar fabrik AG: German based.Producer of wafers and panels but mostly engaged in selling/installing panels to customers. Did not to great last year. Pe is not to low. I have no position in it.

- Solon AG fuer Solartechnik: Somewhat similar to Solar Fabrik German based.. Makes large panels mostly for solar plants and other equipment of installers and solar plants. Neither to cheap in PE. Performance in 2007 was not to bad. I hold no position in it.

- Wacker Chemie: German based. Producer of chemicals, mainly for the solar industry, like polysilicon. (somewhat similar to MEMC) . Stock performance aint to bad at all. PE is low, even a bit undervalued. I have no position in it, but am considering a small one.

- Sunways AG: Another producer and seller of Solar panels. German based. Pe aint to low, stock is moving nicely sideways atm though. Has had better stock times, but revenue and profit are nicely rising year by year. I have no position in it.

- SolarWorld AG: Yet another german based producer/seller of solar panels. Similar to Sunways. Good stock performance, Fairly low PE. Year in year out good growth. Was concidering a position in it but forgot to follow up, pitty should have bought them at 25 euro's for sure. Damn.

- ErSol Solar Energy AG: And yet another German based producer/seller of solar panels. Had very good growth, but last quarter was a bit dissapointing. Not cheap in PE. Also engaged in thin films. I have no position in it.

- Centrosolar AG: Seller of solar solutions. german based, not to good stock performance, fairly high PE. I have no position.

- Conergy Ag: german based project manager of mainly solar plants, also some biogas and Wind farms. Stock has plummeted from roughly 65 euro's to 14 euro's. PE suggests undervalued. Has had erradic revenue figures in 2007. Hard to say if this company is in trouble or not, but superficcialy looks like a bargain. Putting more research in this before i might consider a position. probably something to follow.

- 3S Swiss Solar Systems AG: Obviously Swiss based. Provides installations and machinery for the solar producers as well as placement equipment. Nice constant growt, stock performance not to bad. Hardly felt a thing in the Januari dip. No idea what the PE is. I have no position in it.

Biofuel's:

Though i hardly follow biofuels due to low interrest, 2 company's do have my interrest

-Smack Biogas: German based Biogas company (wich is different to biofiuels) Building and opperating biogas plants. It's stock has had better times. Pe is fairly high. Growth aint to bad though, still somewhat erradic. My gut feeling though tells me that this company still might have a great future. Again biogas aint the same as biofuels.I havn't got any position in it though.

-Abengoa SA: Mainly engaged in Biofuels and Biogas, although the company has a whole array of different opperations. One of the largest company's though in this segment worldwide. Spanish based iirc. I have no position in it and aint planning one.Strange financials. Just added it because it's large in this segment, the most important in Europe iirc.

And while there are many European company's in this section, i won't add further either.

Other/mixed renewables

- Norsk Hydro: firmly undervalued large cap + solid divident. Norway based. Has many different opperations including alluminium and building materials, owns and builds several hydroelectric dams. Invests in several small solar company's like for ex. USA based Ascent solar. Has thousands of employee's in more than 20 country's. I hold a moderate position in it, wich i might expand. company is over 100 years old. Had a distinct part to play in WW2 as the only heavy water plant in axis hands, wich got them a visit of Brittish commando's. I like this company. Survived the 1929 stock crash with ease so you should not be surprized that the januari dip didn't had to much effect on them, jokingly said.

- Iberdrola Sa: Sells and produces electricity, has some wind farms and opperates and builds small hydroelectric dams. I have no position in it.

- EDF Energies Nouvelles S.A: Engages in selling solar, wind, hydro and biomass power. High Pe, not to flashy stock performance, though fair growth. I have no position in it.

As for a disclaimer. I work in IT. (technician) If that shouldn't tell you enough then i should add that i havn't got that much experience, been trading for 2 years with relativly moderate succes. And i know few of theoretical economics, though i consider myself fairly able to learn and understand complex matters of various kinds. I have thus no financial background, you should deffinatly take my advice with a grain of salt, even to some extent my knowledge of these company's, and i would always advice one to do his own research.

This list was mainly compiled to give people here, for so far the were uninformed, a view of some of the more prolific european company's engaged in renewable energy.
