Ok.. here's the quick skinny
Of all the agricultural fertilizers, potash is the only one that cannot be manufactured, but must be MINED.
That means barriers to entry, etc.
Canada is the world's largest producer of potash and POT is the biggest company in the business.. Its been going nearly straight up.
Recently on the Toronto Exchange, two more potash miners debuted.. .Get them while you can
The first is API.TO and the second is KCL.V
Good luck !!!!
Not sure how to trade this with Scottrade. Don't believe they carry those two.

Ok folks, another Canadian Fertilizer gem
this time, its Phospate, a source of phosphorus..... not Potash, which is a source of POTASSIUM
FOS.V is Phoscan Chemical Company.. the market cap here is a mere $68 million , so this has BIG TIME potential
They're setting up a plant in Ontario to convert their phosphate reserves into phosphoric acid, which is a big source material for fertilizer.

Nice description Bman.
Looks like they want to own the verticals too, rather than giving up the profits in the next step (potash -> phosphate).
Nice call. I am watching it :)

I was able to buy at ipo of $4.25. Over doubled now since first trading day. Wish I could have bought more!!

API got a pop today after Dawn Zhou appeared on BNN at 10:10am.
Why is KCL stuck? It got bigger reserves?

This FOS.V is on fire!!! up another 4.8% today
Here's the real kicker though.. FOS.V and BLR.V are merging, with holders of BLR.V getting 1.4 shares of FOS.V after the merger
BLR.V is trading at a significant discount to FOS.V though... Its trading at $1.90 and should be worth about $2.1, based on FOS.V shares current value
That's the way to play this if you want in on a very hot Phosphate fertilizer play
Buy the BLR.V

You got a nice pull back today. Lots of good stocks pulled back 8, 9, 10% today.
POT, AGU, MON & MOS all fell more than 10%. The agriculture sector finally got hit hard. Gold and steel also got pummeled. My stock screen found over 247 companies with a market cap over 250 million that were down more than 7% today. Some people think that hedge funds needed to raise some cash and decided to sell some of their winners.

POT back at all time highs today
Reiterating my STRONG BUY on Canadian potash firms
The strongest of the small guys right now appears to be ATHABASCA POTASH INC (AGP.V).. just about ready to break out over $5.8 which will generate a move up to $7.00
FOS.V which isn't potash but rather Phosphoric Acid (another phosphorous based fertilizer) is on the move again today... on heavy volume
should hit new highs aboev $1.50 soon
Sitting at $1.35 now

Agriculture is just tearing it up, $172 on Potash, boy am I regretting selling mine at $160 :(. Not worried though, these stocks aren't immune from violent pullbacks which will give great buying opportunities. This fundamental story continues to be great and most valuations are still very reasonable given the growth rates.

Looks like TITN recently went public. Do you know when the lockup period ends. With a 2 bagger on their hands I bet some shareholders are itching to sell.

I'd be taking profits here after the good bit of news in Potash, it's run quite a bit taking half of your position off is probably a good idea here. That's what I'm doing atleast.
