(Sorry if this is the wrong section Mods – but I just want some feedback from people interested in Finance)

We have just finished building www.OilPrice.Com (http://www.oilprice.com/) and i would love to hear your views on the site.
Basically what we do is give away financial data, commodity quotes that would normally cost hundreds or thousands of dollars a month.
We have also created charts and data panels that you only need to copy and paste - so it's incredibly easy to have good looking financial data on your site for free.

We have also lined up some great financial journalists and Economists to add articles to the site - to keep the content updated daily and also be of interest to visitors.
(please don't let the quality of the current content fool you - it's not bad , but what you'll see in a month is in a different league.)

My one concern is that the homepage looks a bit too busy and this will end up putting people off.

Anyway I would love to hear your reviews - especially on layout and colours and if it’s actually interesting.

Thanks

I like it, front page is busy like you said, but tolerable. If you can, rollover charts would be nice on the Stocks, or at least active links to a quote from Yahoo finance or the like. It definitely has a lot of the stuff I check every morning in one spot. Good luck with it.

To make it less busy, I would suggest only including the titles of the articles and not the first few words. Also pulling down the words from the About Us tab and making it so you can click to read those instead might help. Just the first few thoughts I had about reducing clutter.

Thanks for the feedback guys - it's really appreciated.
I like the idea of rollover charts and will have a chat with the developer today.
I like the idea about the About us box as it doesn't seem to be doing much.
Thanks again
