Stock Advice Sites

I love those come-on ads that promise 87% return for subscribing to their stock predictions, to the tune of several hundreds of dollars per year. The Fool has a bunch.

I found a few blogs recommended in Harry Domash's column last Sunday. They usually have links to the paid stuff as well.

I really like this forum and the point was made that these subscription sites are run by losers, else why would they waste time running a webbusiness when they could be hauling it in hand over fist.

Still, having a basis to start my own research might be good. It would be easier to do the opposite of what they suggest, hehe.

I've found the easy stuff but there is no substitute for recommended sites from peeps who have experience and use them.

Any feedback?

Also, I have streaming quotes but it's basic. Is there a more comprehensive product that isn't part of a big brokerage (Ameritrade, etc)?

If you already have a broker and live feeds, check out quotetracker.com and run your feed through. You can use it as a platform.

Also check out Nija Trader...you can get a package that will provide free real-time quotes / sim and push that through quotetracker as well.

I should have given more info up front....I have QuoteTracker but it won't link my brokerage.

Nija and another site I found scare the **** out of me wanting actual data and transparency from my account.

It might be information overload anyway, at this point.

All you needed was margin and ability to short. Flesh from a carcass to be had by all....and the occasional leg bone for Christmas!

No matter. This is no time to get ahead of myself. My program suits me for what I can and more importantly can NOT do or understand. I just wanted to preview the things y'all talk about so the learning curve won't have too many hitches.

I occasionally speak at Investors Business Daily meet up groups here in the Philly area, and many of the members are using Vector Vest, and speak really highly of them. I took a one month test drive, I think it was $10, and the site is well laid out and may well have been useful, but it didn't really give me anything I don't already have with my current subscriptions to Thompson and E-trade. If you don't have a good screening program set up you might be served well by VV, but it is like $600 a year, so you'd need to recoup that before it was worth it.

I already trade securities that have friendly sounding ticker names. Plus, I don't have a brother to share the cost with.

It really isn't the cost. I'm sure the value is there if one can utilize enough of the info.

What I've noticed is that no amount of basic research will do enough to overcome being swept away with the tide on those ultra volatile days, of which outnumber "normal" days.

At some point, I'll be able to interpret the trends/volatility/volume charts. Then all I have to do is factor in the other markets around the world, sector introspections, second guessing the big guys, anticipating the shady actions of the hedge fund jokers, sovereign nations buying in for pennies on the dollar, material disruptions and political catastrophies.

Hi, I'm looking for feedback and experience on Stock Pick services.

#1. Ken Trester's Options Zone/Fast Profit Options. I couldn't find anything negative about this service or Ken Trester, but the results I found often seemed biased and/or affiliated with them. Still, it seems that with all of the super-advanced technology today, someone should be able to put the odds in our favor at least fairly well. Any recommendations for or against this one or other Stock Pickers for options and stocks??

#2. The 'Doubling Stocks' (Marl) seems to clearly have gotten the thumbs down and be a loser, and possibly worse. Any specific feedback or personal experience with this group?

Any advise or experience will be much appreciated! The consensus seems to be that if they were so successful, they'd be ultra wealthy investors who would only be doing trading, but at some of their prices that seems pretty lucrative too. Do the car salesmen who don't end up owning their own dealership end up writing books telling us how to run a dealership???

Are there any winner Stock Pick services for options and stocks??
