View Full Version : Forum speed improvements
I have tried to be a regular poster/contributor/chaos encourager to this site. However, the site seems to be getting slower, and slower....and is very frustraing to post. I think if if the technology was speeded up it would encourage others to post here..and stay here.
What about it Mr. Admin Man?

I don't really have that problem. Are you on a cable connection?

We use ultra fast servers, and the software the forum runs on is not only the latest version, but has been optimized for speed by being modified to keep a cache of the pages so they should load instantly.
Are you seeing this slowdown only on our site?
Anyone else out there have speed complaints?

Maybe your problem is the same as mine over the last week. Microsoft just installed new updates this morning, now much, much better. I even called D-MAX monday, asking why I should pay for dsl when it was getting as slow as dial-up.
I am running on Time Warner Cable...Roadrunner Business Class. This evening it is taking between 10 and 30 seconds to flip pages, or open a post once i am in the thread. I don't seem to have this problem with any other forums or programs that i am running, and i probably hit up several thousands of quotes, news stories, charts, analytics and web sites each day without any problems. For some reason, this site is always slow.

Not slow for me. Seems to work just fine. Maybe one second between pages.

I recommend that you contact Time Warner Cable and ask them to do a traceroute - there is probably a server between your cable connection, and Austin, Texas, where our servers are located, that is screwing things up. You will have to run a small application on your end to document the different servers that you go through to reach our domain.
We have software that monitors the server loads, and unless I get more reports of slowness, I would think that the problem isn't here, since all our systems are working fine.

I'm connecting via the wireless router in my office which gets it's signal from comcast cable. It takes between 0.1 and 1 sec to flip a page on the website.
Damon - where did you get the bull picture?!
