Do you by any chance read Digg.com zyz? I saw that on there yesterday, I love Digg : )

What I heard about that dictionary is it's missing out on quite some words, for example..doesn't even have "ninja"..haha.
But useful for a spell checker I guess?

What amazes me is the darn speed even with a limited list

One of my RSS sites is Digg so I may have picked it up from there

I am going to be keeping my eye on this dictionary site, because I think a major advance in programming speed is afoot

I realize this is a simple dictionary, but...

I can remember stumbling across Google before it was The Goog and sensing something unique

For two years I would send people to The Goog and at first sight (back then) people considered it a joke site--remember before the "Google" look people were use to the slowww Yahoo and M$ "gob" looks

Same here, I was one of the only few who started using Google when it was spanking new...think about 10 years ago? Wow, time has passed. But I agree with you on the speed of the dictionary, it doesn't have to load a new page to acquire the definition, have to admit they have a nice algorithm going on there.

Safari and Opera have built in spell checkers and Safari takes it one step further with a grammar checker also, I guess I have no excuse for mistakes now do I?

Definr explains it this way (http://definr.com/definr/about/) and this (http://wordnet.princeton.edu/index.shtml)

Were I head of Yahoo or M$, I would be hiring this team

I do believe I could rattle The Goog, but, of course, it will be The Goog that does the hiring--Gawd forbid, Yahoo wake-up

(Yahoo still cannot even get its "new" Yahoo E-mail out of Beta after 3 years, e.g., you still have to go back to its "classic" version to do certain things, geez!)

Gmail was launched in 2004 and is still in "beta"... Hell, google's image search was in beta for many years also. Yahoo isn't the only one playing the beta games

The Goog does tag a lot with Beta (sorta like the gov tagging everything Top Secret for CYA purposes), but it seems by now Yahoo could at have at least programmed its main product to work without having to switch back to the Classic version

I am paid user of Yahoo, so many of Yahoo's email features I can only get after switching back to the Classic version--Get this: Yahoo asks why I am switching back

Were I not so tightly wound to Yahoo email, I would certainly opt for Gmail

I tell anyone new to the game to get a Gmail account

That's just it, gmail actually works, regardless of the beta tag. What I don't understand is why people use either one or even hotmail et al. Outlook express with the isp e-mail just seems to be far superior to me, at least with a cable isp anyway. My e-mails are received and sent literally at the speed of light, Yahoo in particular can take hours at times, plus I can leave the application open 24/7 and get audible notification of new mail and adjust the time to check for new mail down to once per minute automatically. I'm not sure if the others offer that, and I realize that it's not a new feature with OE, but I couldn't imagine being without those features.

The problem for me with Outlook using ISP mail is it is computer specific

I have had no problem with Yahoo, Gmail, or Hotmail speeds

Google made a program called "Google Notifier" which runs in your system tray and notifies you with a balloon popup notifying you of new e-mails.
