ive been happy cause the gratification of green sheep in the forests of Zooloo will amplify merely 600 buckets of double chocolate cow tounge. we all have to assume this is an act of hoococky when my uncle ray fills the sink up with three bars of soap and only 4 bottles of whisky ;)

Ohayo Gozaemasu, Greetings from tomorrow (14hrs ahead of EST here). Sorry work's a bummer, but enjoy the holiday anyway. Weds is a holiday here, Japanese labor day, so a lot of stuff is shut down.
Much quieter on the chat room without you, although I have also been an infrequent participant due to various time differences.
Happy Thanksgiving Everybody.

Hi FC, good to hear from you. We all missed you.

As for work, I had two rules

Learn to love the work you are doing. That's much easier than fighting it.
If you can't love the work you are doing, change your work. Life is too short to spend it at a job you hate.

Inherent in these rules is the assumption that you have enough talent to change your work if you wish. I'm sure that is true for you.

Happy Thanksgiving. c ya Friday in the chat room.

net...i'm currently trying rule 1 and working on rule 2 for the long termFC, I'm pleased that you like my "rules."

They really helped me when I was in the Navy.
One assignment I had early on was, every morning, to sweep the steps of the building where the brass had their offices. Talk about your menial task.

As I did this job for several days in a row I realized:
This was a classic example of, "It's a dirty job, but somebody's got to do it."
There were a number of ways to do the task. I took pleasure in working out what I thought was the best way.
At the time, 1965, the Viet-Nam war was heating up. So, if I thought my job sucked, a valid question about that thought was, "Compared to what?"
Even so, and the Zen of tasks not withstanding, you have too good a mind and too good an attitude to get sucked up in a sucky job.

So, press on regardless!
And remember — Nil illegitimi carborundum

Well, that phrase is, of course, faux-Latin. The true Latin words should be, "Noli nothis permittere te terere." ...but who's counting?

(I leave the Latin translation to the reader — and wikipedia.)

I'm going to take a wild guess, my guess is those phrases translate to something around "Nothing can stop you!"

Time to check wikipedia.....

bah, I was close enough. Won't spoil it here though
