Happy Veterans Day and a huge thank you to all the dedicated men and women who put their lives on the line to fight for our countries freedom.

Investors were on pins and needles today at the start of a new trading week and the markets decided to take the low road once again today. Trading volume was moderate with a decent trading range which provided a variety of trading action for the active day traders. Short sellers who day trade appear to be reaping in some nice profits over the recent negative trend in the markets. At the end of the trading session, the major indices struck their lows for the session possibly a set up for another run for the red, tomorrow morning.

At the closing bell, here is how the major indices ended the session: the DOW (Dow Jones Industrial Average) posted a loss of 51.86 points on the day to end the session at 12,990.88; the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) posted a triple digit loss of 163.30 points to end the session at 9,570.04; the NASDAQ posted a loss of 43.81 points for a close at 2,584.13; the S&P 500 moved lower by 13.89 points to end at 1,439.81 and the RUSSELL 2000 moved lower by 5.70 points to close at 766.68. The FTSE All-World Index ex-US (top Large/Mid Cap aggregate from over 2,700 stocks from the FTSE Global Equity Index Series (GEIS) which covers 90% of the world’s investable market capitalization) posted a loss of 4.32 points to close at 261.04 and the FTSE RAFI 1000 posted a loss of 47.33 points to close at 5,917.22.

Commodities Markets
The trend was mostly lower across the board today for the Energy Sector: Light crude moved lower today by $1.70 to close at $94.62 a barrel; Heating Oil closed lower by $0.04 today at $2.58 a gallon; Natural Gas moved higher today by $0.04 to close at $8.33 per million BTU and Unleaded Gas moved lower today by $0.04 to close at $2.42 a gallon.

Metals Market ended the session lower across the board today: Gold moved sharply lower today by $27.00 to close at $807.70 an ounce; Silver moved lower by $0.78 to close at $14.76 per ounce; Platinum moved sharply lower again today by $35.50 to close at $1,390.80 an ounce and Copper closed lower by $0.04 today at $3.11 per pound.

On the Livestock and Meat Markets, the trend was mixed across the board today: Lean Hogs ended the day lower by $1.35 to close at $52.55; Pork Bellies ended the day higher by $0.43 at $87.18; Live Cattle ended the day lower by $0.40 at $95.10 and Feeder Cattle ended the day higher by $0.95 at $108.98.

Other Commodities: Corn moved sharply lower today by $7.75 to close at $378.75 and Soybeans moved sharply lower today by $9.75 to end the session at $1,047.00.

Bond Market was closed today in observance of Veterans Day Holiday.

The e-mini Dow ended the session today at 13,067 with a gain of 20 points on the trading session. The total Dow Exchange Volume for the day came in at 297,921 which are comprised of Electronic, Open Auction and Cash Exchange. Traders should review workshops available at the CBOT (Chicago Board of Trade) Educational in-person seminars schedules available on CBOT (Chicago Board of Trade) website.

The end of day results for the CBOT (Chicago Board of Trade) which is comprised of the total Exchange Volume for Futures and Options (EVFO) including Electronic, Open Auction and Cash Exchange ended the day at 4,153,159; Open Interest for Futures moved higher by 43,912 points to close at 10,251,626; the Open Interest for Options moved higher by 68,170 points to close at 9,264,133 and the Cleared Only moved higher by 90 points to close at 13,963 for a total Open Interest on the day of 19,529,722 for a total Change on the day with a gain of 112,172 points.

On the NYSE today, advancers came in at 1,084; decliners totaled 2,185; unchanged came in at 94; new highs came in at 19 and new lows came in at 431. Active trading stocks on the Big Board today: CME Group (CME) posted a hefty loss on the session of 13.90 points with a high on the session of $652.94, a low of $624.99 with a final trading price of $632.80; Petroleo Brasileiro (PBR) moved sharply lower on the session to shed 12.86 points for a loss of 11.93% with a high on the day of $104.58, a low of $94.78 with a final trading price at $94.90; Rio Tinto plc (RTP) plummeted lower on the trading day with a very sharp loss of 42.48 points with a high on the day of $480.00, a low of $434.00 for a final trading price of $435.87; MasterCard Incorporated (MA) fell hard on the session to post a loss of 11.12 points with a high on the session of $196.42, a low of $180.25 for a final trading price of $181.88 and PetroChina Company Limited (PTR) shed a whopping 17.35 points on the session with a high on the day of $192.96, a low of $184.18 with a closing price of $184.53.

On the NASDAQ today, advanced totaled 1,246; decliners totaled 1,792; unchanged came in at 103; new highs came in at 30 and new lows came in at 267. Active trades for the day consisted of: Google Incorporated (GOOG) took a nose dive on the session today for a loss of 31.90 points with a high on the trading day of $669.93, a low of $626.21 for a closing price at the bell of $632.07; Baidu.com (BIDU) tumbled sharply lower on the session with a loss on the day of 41.45 points with a high on the session of $344.50, a low of $301.60 for a final trading price at the bell of $301.50 and E Trade Financial Corporation (ETFC) literally plummeted lower on the day to post a heavy loss of 5.04 points to shed a sharp decline of 58.67% with a final trading price of $3.55.
