Just bought some CHVC today and the sale didn't go through using Scottrade. I guess you have to call the office and they have to do it for you.

I also learned you can put limits when you wish to sell.

Are all the discount brokers like this?

Also, what do you suppose the reasons are that they wont let us trade Pink's like normal stocks, are we babies that need to be watched over?

Since no one else bothered to answer............

stops and limits are a basic part of any system and you would probably be wise to understand them, and use them, before you buy any stock.

I dont use Scottrade. I do not know their policy for penny stocks.

some stocks are restricted to internet purchases. CHVC happens to be one of them. Call in and they will fill your order for you. No extra charge either.
I use Scottrade as well, so I feel your pain.

Glad you jumped in though!! Enjoy the ride!!!

Freaksceen,

Thanks for the reply, what company do you use and are there restrictions? I don't like the feeling I get having to hang around all the time with a couple of grand being invested in a stock that could turn down to nothing.

AJ:
Thanks buddy, whats you idea for Friday. Did you stay in or sell out just before closing?

Do you know if Scottrade has text messaging capability? I would feel more comfortable with that. If not, I may get out, the risk to profit at this point without control of selling while not watching the screen just goes against my grain.

I haven't had any complaints with scottrade on these little guys or normal orders at least on the ones they allow you to trade online.

AJ - I don't know if you drive up and down the DNT at all, but if you do on the West side just south of the Capital One Auto Finance building FXCM just open an office. It looks like the top floor of a large office building...forex must be profitable

Rich, you can set a stop limit order. You set the price at 5%, 8% loss, which ever you choose. If it tanks, you'll be "stopped out". Adjust the stop accordingly.

I still have CHVC...added some to my position today by the way. i have a mental stop, so if the stock drops, i'll sell most and keep some for the hell of it. those shares are basically free anyway!!!

Pinquin...I drive I-20 only. 635 some. I rarely drive up north, much less on the tollway.
don't know much about Forex either.

Then I was mis-informed by Scottrade, they specifically stated that you could not put a stop limit order or any limit order in on a pink stock. I'm sure glad you told me this!!!

Thanks so much AJ, at the moment I wish I would have trippled my possition. This is more nerve racking than watching the last two minutes of a SuperBowl!

On this subject your wrong ! <G> I tried it this morning both ways and you can't do it.

I wonder if Ameritrade restricts like this or any other discount broker ?

I just called Ameritrade and they too have no restrictions. I'm not going to be near a computor for long periods and Scottrade makes me feel like I put a sign on my house "COME ON IN, OWNER ON VACATION, SO HELP YOURSELF!""

I'm getting out until I can watch this thing and have some protection, pinks can drop faster than hail..

How is Xecco? I have heard some problems with delays and terrible support. Of course being free has to have some drawbacks but one or two cents can equal a large loss.

Thanks, Freakscene

DANG, this is addictive!

I got back in at $2.20 and its already gone up to 2.48!

I'm going to let it ride out until my Zecco or Ameritrade accounts have the money transfered. Not sure which one to go with of the two.

Rich

I still fell naked without the capability of putting a stop limit, BUT, all news reports are possitive. Talk about exposure with no Limit capability.

I heard about all the problems people had with Zecco but during my own research I found they were mostly due to the end users who didnt know how to read, or non-americans who, also didnt bother to read, and needed to send in paperwork.

For day and swing trades, its never caused me a problem.

And that could save a person tons of money in trades too. Sometimes we strive to get $20 in profits with this market.

I wonder if anyone else has an opinion, but it seems this site has many who lurk but don't post. I guess they're tired of the newbies and those growing asking the same questions all the time <g>

Thanks Freakscene.

Rich......

Final answer for a million:

Tradestation or Interactive Brokers.

Check their web sites. Both very thorough and will answer every question you have in just a few links.

Happy Trading. :)

Thanks as ALWAYS Luc, I will check them out.
I HAVE to do something, What I feared happened today, I was declaring war against the market with no safety tools such as limits, and my profits sunk like a tank since I can't sit in front of the computor. I learned not to buy anything I can't have a safety stop.

I just HOPE that CHVC goes up this next Monday, I have to do an entire reading to try to fiqure it out.

Thanks to all.

I use USAA Savings bank and they have not restricted me from even trading the smallest penny stocks.
