Anybody care to explain to me why tomorrow night we have to start this nonsense all over again? What are there, 50 farmers left in the country, and because 7 of them have to have their kids milk the damned herd before school, we have to lose the afternoon sun? I like to get in a little golf after market close, not happening monday. I say @$%# the cows, let them wait, and #!%& the milk while you're at it. Maybe whoever makes these decisions didn't know this but milk consumption leads to cancer. The countries with the highest per capita milk consumption also have the highest cancer rate. Golf causes larger forearms.
What's the bigger threat here folks? Getting strangled by some guy in really bad trousers or cancer?
Bring back the sun.

Come on over to the west coast where it's nice and sunny AMC.
But if it wasn't for DST....we'd be sleeping overtime during the winter as the earth tilts farther away, besides I like waking up to the sun...not to the dark.

And...because of DST, the summer days last to 8pm.

Bring back the sun.Oh, Aiki, what a great post! So many ways to go!

You're complaining about returning from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time. You're too late. You should have complained back in March when we went off Standard Time in the first place.
What? You want to be on Daylight Saving Time all year? You got a problem with the sun being overhead at noon? Change your schedule. You don't punch a time clock. :?
Blame the railroads. If it weren't for them needing a time standard, we would all use sun time. Standard time is just another example of over-regulation by government. So a few trains run into each other.
Hey! Railroads! Maybe it's all Buffet's fault.
The farmers I know work on sun time all year round. You're giving them a bum rap. :x
Kids should not walk to school in the dark. :|
Blame the Brits. It all started with 'British Summer Time' — and we all know what a high latitude the UK occupies. How can that apply to us? :?
This is an energy issue. According to this site
http://www.energy.ca.gov/daylightsaving.html
DST saves 1% a day on total energy use. Wassamatter you, you don't believe Gore? :(
Cancer comes from the sun [see 'Brits' above] not milk. No prob with having the sun set earlier. Let the wife get the kids off in the morning. 8)
Well, that's a start. I'm sure you'll get plenty more on this.

Bring back the sun.Despite the "ever so clever" :?: words in my first response to your post, I'd like to answer your question.

I'd like to, but I can't. The intricacies and logic [or lack thereof] involved in setting Daylight Saving Time are beyond me. You have identified a classic conundrum. Why does Government do the things it does?

I really hope other posters will shed light on this.
