I tried to pump this in here this Am and thought I did, but had real worlds things to do.
Once in a long while these stocks raise thier heads. I missed out this AM due to having funds tied up.
Stock 101, never chase a stock on a run. I'll be breaking that rule in the AM.

Heres the next BEHL I hope the run has more steam. It will be a long Term hold for me.

Hope some of you had this one. The only thing that can kill this stock is oil @ $20/barrel

Good one... I'm just worried it could come right back down after such a big push. Hopefully I'm wrong...But long term this goes higher. I bought in mid June at .07 sold half yesterday @ .27 when my indicator turned down. Holding the rest for a long while.

For those not following it, it opened at .115 and closed at .31 on Wednesday. here is the news:

Aug 05, 2009 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Electric Transportation Engineering Corporation (eTec (www.etecevs.com (http://www.etecevs.com/))), a subsidiary of ECOtality, Inc. (www.ecotality.com (http://www.ecotality.com/)) (OTCBB: ETLY), a leader in clean electric transportation and storage technologies, has been selected by U.S. Department of Energy for a grant of approximately $99.8 million to undertake the largest deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) and charging infrastructure in U.S. history. eTec, as the lead applicant for the proposal, partnered with Nissan North America to deploy EVs and the charging infrastructure to support them. The Project takes advantage of the early availability of the Nissan LEAF, a zero-emission electric vehicle, to develop, implement and study techniques for optimizing the effectiveness of charging infrastructure that will support widespread EV deployment.

The Project will install electric vehicle charging infrastructure and deploy up to 1,000 Nissan battery electric vehicles in strategic markets in five states: Arizona, California, Oregon, Tennessee, and Washington.
"By studying lessons learned from electric vehicle operations and the infrastructure supporting these first 5,000 vehicles, the Project enables the streamlined deployment of the next 5,000,000 electric vehicles," said Don Karner, President of eTec. "Nissan's market leadership in electric vehicles affords us the unique opportunity to develop and study the charge infrastructure necessary to support the widespread deployment of EVs. eTec's extensive experience in battery electric drive systems and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, combined with the support of Nissan and over 40 government and industry partners, will enable this Project to successfully pave the way for electric transportation nationwide."

The Project will collect and analyze data to characterize vehicle use in diverse topographic and climatic conditions, evaluate the effectiveness of charge infrastructure, and conduct trials of various revenue systems for commercial and public charge infrastructure. With the goal of developing mature charging environments, the Project proposes to deploy charging infrastructure in major population areas that include Phoenix (AZ), Tucson (AZ), San Diego (CA), Portland (OR), Eugene (OR), Salem (OR), Corvallis (OR), Seattle (WA), Nashville (TN), Knoxville (TN) and Chattanooga (TN). To support the Nissan EV, the Project will install approximately 12,500 Level 2 (220V) charging systems and 250 Level 3 (fast-charge) systems. "ECOtality is committed to enhancing America's energy independence, accelerating the market acceptance of electric transportation and supporting President Obama's goals for job creation and advanced electric drive vehicle deployment," stated Jonathan Read, President and CEO, ECOtality. "This Project underscores America's leadership role in clean electric transportation and exemplifies the Department of Energy's strategic foresight and commitment to improving our environment and economy. By developing a rich charge infrastructure in each market, this Project will enable a successful consumer experience amongst early EV adopters and increase market demand for electric transportation."
It is anticipated that more than 750 new employment positions will be generated by the proposed Project by 2012. In supporting the market launch of the Nissan EV, it is expected that over 5,500 new positions will be in place by 2017 as a direct result of the proposed Project.

On August 2, Nissan introduced the LEAF, an electric vehicle and the world's first affordable, zero-emission car. Designed specifically for a lithium-ion battery-powered chassis, Nissan LEAF is a medium-size hatchback that comfortably seats five adults and has a range of 100 miles to satisfy real-world consumer requirements. The Nissan LEAF will launch in the United States in late 2010. U.S. production will begin in 2012, at Nissan's manufacturing facility in Smyrna, Tennessee.
"Nissan appreciates the support of the Department of Energy in helping jumpstart the electrification of the transportation sector," said Scott Becker vice president, legal and general counsel, Nissan North America. "This is a major step in promoting zero-emission mobility in the United States. Nissan is looking forward to partnering with eTec to help make electric cars a reality and to help establish the charging networks in key markets."

The U.S. Department of Energy will provide funding of up to $99.8 million that will be matched by Project participants. Federal matching funds will be used to design, deploy, and operate a mature charging infrastructure in support of future wide-scale deployment of EVs, and to evaluate the means to improve the effectiveness of this charging infrastructure.

watched it all morning and got back from doing stuff and put in a .25 limit that got filled with in an hour. I asume it will dive down now that I'm in.
You know the drill. I'll stick and play

I found this list of DOE reciepiants. Haven't looked into all, but ETLY is in with some big players GM, Ford, Crysler. Some need to be looked at if they are public and worth a play.
ETLY is top of 3rd page

Sold all my SFIO this AM and rolled have into ETLY with a limit buy @ .20

The real play is going to be with the battery manufacturer. I haven't found em yet. I'm sure` as I can lose money that whoever they are they are getting Stimulus money thrown at em. Hope at least one is`public. Many cars will and have been made so thats easy. Battery technology is and always have been a key componet. And this goes way back to Tesla himself.

Greetings Rat Fink,

"The real play is going to be with the battery manufacturer. I haven't found em yet."

Hunt 'em down man. You are good at digging information up. I am quite impressed with your ability to find all these obscure stocks. I usually use Yahoo Finance as my basic starting point; however, a lot of these pennies have no information under their company profile. How would you do further research on them under these circumstances.

Tick

Fink,

Check this article out

http://featured.matternetwork.com/2008/12/short-supply-american-made-electric.cfm

It has some battery manufacture's listed but I haven't had any time to do any research yet. There are a couple US based ones, but alot of them are based in Asia.

I remember reading somewhere that battery metals are mined in Canada, smelted in Wales, processed in China and assembled in Japan. Very toxic work until its shipped out of China. The story was a slam on the "GREEN" aspects of cutting edge batteries. We might have a few environmental issues with batteries in the US.

Electric Transportation Engineering Corporation (eTec), a subsidiary of ECOtality, Inc. (OTCBB: ETLY (https://research.scottrade.com/research/common/symbolRedirect.asp?symbol=ETLY)), a leader in the clean electric transportation and storage technologies, announced today it has been awarded a patent for its Bridge Power Manager (BPM (https://research.scottrade.com/research/common/symbolRedirect.asp?symbol=BPM)) by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The BPM provides cost effective means to share power with existing electric circuits for eTec's Minit-Charger(TM) line of fast charge systems.
"The BPM takes advantage of existing power circuits and eliminates the need for airports and other fast-charge host locations to design and construct new circuits for installing fast chargers, saving host locations time and money," said Don Karner, eTec's president. "This patent exemplifies eTec's dedication to providing effective technology solutions that help streamline the transition to electric vehicles in critical airport ground support, material handling and on-road electric vehicle applications."
Airports are a natural location to implement this power sharing technology as many are power limited, thus preventing the implementation of electric ground support equipment (GSE (https://research.scottrade.com/research/common/symbolRedirect.asp?symbol=GSE)). Since electric supply circuits that provide bridge power at airport gates are only used for short periods of time -- when a jet arrives and passengers board and deplane -- those circuits are unused for a majority of the time, leaving spare power capacity. The BPM uses that spare power capacity to provide branch power to a Minit-Charger(TM) fast charger. When the passenger boarding bridge is in use, the eTec BPM decreases power to the Minit-Charger(TM) unit, then automatically returns the charger to full power once the bridge is no longer in use, without any input from an operator. While the BPM was specifically designed for airport use, the technology can be utilized in other applications, including on-road electric vehicle use, to allow spare power capacity from existing supply circuits to be shared and between fast charge systems.
By eliminating the need for new supply circuits, the eTec BPM substantially reduces both the time and cost required to design and construct new power circuits at an airport. The BPM allows airports and airlines to implement electric GSE at locations where power limitations prevented the installation of the charging infrastructure. Electric ground support equipment has been shown to reduce annual fueling costs by 70 to 80 percent and total operating costs by 30 to 40 percent (when compared to support equipment fueled by gasoline or diesel fuel). Furthermore, electric GSE eliminates the pollution generated by gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment.
"In addition to the tremendous benefits the eTec BPM provides to ground support equipment, this technology also paves the way for an on-road application that utilizes existing circuits for electric vehicle multi-charge locations," said Jonathan Read, president and CEO, ECOtality. "The BPM patent further validates and enhances ECOtality's leading fast charge technology portfolio by minimizing charger installations costs, maximizing use of existing power sources and ensuring an efficient transition to electric transportation."
