I have heard the rumor today from a friend, who is a trader and he said that Google talks about buying Sirius radio. Do you have more info on that? Is that just a rumor or something BIG?
If they really gonna buy, it can mean that Sirius radio will go through the roof, i dont want to miss the chance to be first i line for that.
Any way to confirm the rumor?:confused2::confused2::confused2::confused2:
thanks

This rumor is 2 years old, check this out:

http://www.fool.com/investing/high-growth/2007/09/25/google-cant-be-sirius.aspx

It closed at 3.28 that day

Google won't buy until it becomes profitable. Thats projected to be 2011.
-.28 per share in 08 isn't exactly investment material. 2009 Sirius 2nd Quarter earnings come out next Thursday, Aug. 6th. Projected to be -.01 a share. The stock doubled back in March following the earnings report, so if you think its going match or beat that then buy it. Technical indicators are mostly bullish also. With a lot of luxury cars coming out with a Sirius XM satellite radio option It could start to beat earnings estimates regularly. Thus posting profits and setting itself up for a take over or merger.

As far as google buying SIRI, I still just don't know how it would benefit Google all that much right now, so IMO I think it will take alot for this rumor to come true. Google recently sold back its 5% stake in AOL for a mere $283 million. It purchased it for $1 billion in 2006. Not exactly a good investment either. In the near future I just think google will continue to expand its online presence & smartphone apps before buying more satellites in space. It could happen someday though......

However, you still may want to look into buying SIRI for a long bet here.
