Have you ever noticed that all of the stocks that Cramer talks about have already been traded in After Market ECN's. On average they are up $1.00 or more from the market close before he talks about them. Then they light up the boards and trade even higher. So who gets the inside scoop first? Are people within his organization trading the stocks prior to the show air time? :?:

People hanging on hold on the show are doing it. The staff makes them promise they won't act on what they hear, but they are dishonest and greedy and do it anyway. That part of it is a total scam and Cramer has ignored all complaints from other viewers, so in that respect, he is complicit in his non-action. The show is taped before we see it.

I never buy stocks he mentions on there, until long after those a$$holes have cleared out, if at all. The viewers who watch the show and jump on in after hours, after they do, usually get the bottom pulled out from under them and lose money. Don't buy, don't buy!! Watch the show for entertainment or information, then do your own homework and act accordingly or not.

I called before and I didnt hear the show at all when on hold....it was just a recorded message and song the whole time.....so I am not sure.

We seem to get tons of threads on here concerning this issue, and it seems a little silly to me. ITS A TV SHOW!!! Of course there are going to be leaks of what Cramer is going to discuss before airtime. Since he has a staff, and since the show is taped late in the afternoon, it stands to reason that some people may cheat the system. I'm sure Jim, being a lawyer, and knowing he can go to jail, doesn't condone any behavior such as acting on his picks before airtime. I can't tell you how many times I've heard him say "not to pay up in after-hours for his picks", but I guess some people are new to the show, or just don't listen.

Anyway, just my 2 cents.

Maybe they changed it, because of all the complaints. I do know they used to be able to hear what was going on, while on hold. Forbes did an article about it, too, called "Funny Money." I'll post the link, again, so you don't have to go searching around.

Cramer also has a radio show on during the afternoon and sometimes discusses things on there that he brings up later. You can catch the replay of it at thestreet.com, before he goes on tv at night. He also emails a "Mad Money Minute" to us, every day, so we can tell a little about what the subjects are going to be. I never look at them, in time, because I use a different computer during the day that has no email set up on it, for security reasons. Since I don't trade in after hours on his calls, it's not really that important to me.

I agree.....I dont need to race to the computer in order to get his aftermarket rise on the stocks. If you arent the 1st to get it, it usually goes down throughout the day, even though they do pop when he mentions them. Im not a big on trading during the after hours...

I guess enough people have said not to chase those stocks up after hours, including Cramer, so be careful of what you ask for in extended trading, or you just might get it.

People who would usually jump on what he says on TV are not creative people. The stuff that he usually mentions on his show is the company where everyone's looking it and is already hot. He even mentioned on his radio that if you want to make money, you should look at stocks where people are not looking at.

I use the show personally to boost my confidence in investing and because he makes it fun; and not because his insights are the best.

As if to prove the point, it looks like he will talk about CPA tonight....and it won't be negative.

I may be new to this board, but I've been around the block a few times.
Do you folks actually believe that a TV audience can cause a large cap stock (take MO AIG or GE for example) to increase by a dollar or more by their making purchases as soon as Mr Cramer says buy??? Please tell me you don't.

i am both new to this board. and sort of new to stock trading.

Well, I watch the show. I can see the ticker across the bottom of the screen show that displays after hour trades.

The stock the JC mentions goes up, sometimes a little, often times significantly - buck, buck and a half. It rides up, pulls back a little.

They might not be large cap, but then again he doesnt really showcase the stocks like those types of stocks in his featured stocks segments.

I hear what you're saying, but what happens can't be denied.

Pick 10 stock tickers he does not talk about. Pick stocks that normally have after hours volume. They move as well.

I don't see the correlation, at least not a large correlation. It's hard for me to believe that his small viewing audience can move enough shares based on just the show. Insiders maybe moving large blocks, but Joe on the couch......please prove me wrong.

Wait at least two days.......before you buy or short based on his show.

Also........I like his roll-up that Thierry sends out. It has opened up some doors on stocks I would not usually find through my screens. And have made money on over 90% of them. But the money was made by choosing good entry and exit points and never buying just because he said "buy". Look at WTR, GW, MO, GOOG to name a few.

I give Cramer the benefit of the doubt but I do believe that there are some institutionals that get in during the after hour trading after Cramer makes his reco.

His small viewing audience usually are the ones that get burned if they buy in the AH trading session.

How do I get this back? I blocked it out of frustration one day.

I agree, but with the challenge over is there any way to get it back? Does he still send them now that it's over?

I have noticed too the obvious movement of Cramer's mentioned stocks. There is a funny timing problem here: doesn't he begin taping thirty minutes before airing time, so that the show is underway thirty minutes as we are seeing minute one? This could explain something about the stocks' movements. I think the program should not be aired until AFTER aftermarket trading is CLOSED. Another thing to note: not since the earliest few shows has Cramer EVER mentioned an opinion on GE stock again: his masters (GE) MUST HAVE TOLD HIM NOT TO! Good reason-- the stock has been a dog since 2000, and I know, because I own some. Also, I own another of his most hated stocks: Level3 Communications (also a dog in recent years)-- Cramer NEVER misses an opportunity to slam Level3, because I believe, from a remark he made early on about it, that he has a bad history of some kind with the management of LVLT.

I am new to this post but has anyone gone to say Nasdaq.com the day after Mad MOney airs (or the same day) to see when the after hours trading action occured. Ever notice how there are 1 or 2 major players or insiders buying these stocks. There were 50,000 shares bought by one person or firm of ZGEN yesterday exactly at 4pm driving the price to $23.70 from 20.20. Cramer then mentions it on his show around 6:05 and everyone is buying it left and right. How you can you find who the person was that bought 50,000 shares $20.20 each? Now it closes at $22.60 today. Does anyone also have a site that allows you to look up after-hours trade by trade for the past week or so?

Same thing with RHEO right now.....$9.96 to $12. How can one find out about these stocks before they are mentioned??

Most likely institutional investors and professional traders. Since you are new I just want to say that this issue has been discussed numerous times on this forum. Since the show isn't live, sometimes stocks get leaked out to the general public. I don't know the logistics of it, but I am sure there is a way this information gets out.

I understand there are tons of other inst investors doing this as well. But Cramer has a friggin cult following. The other guys do not. My question was how to figure out what Cramer is going to talk about before it is mentioned on Mad Money. There is got to be a way instead of posting your useless crap on blogs like this about how great he is[/b]
