I'm new to this investing thing but there are a few practices I have learned and try to follow before investing.

1. Look up the stock on Morningstar.com and see what grade they give the stock. I don't necessarily use their ranking as a determinate of whether or not I will invest, but it does provide some helpful information.

Morningstar Grading of MPWG
Growth: F
Profitability: C-
Financial Health: B-

2. Taking from Julie Stav, I compare the most recent quarters EPS and compare it to the same quarter of the previous year. She recommends their be at least a 25% growth.

- This year's current EPS for the most current quarter is less than that same quarter from the previous year
