TAKE THE CHALLENGE!

Pick a stock from $2.00 - $5.00 that trades no less than 100k shares daily volume that you think will go up in the next five days.

Select an entry price (like a market order), the stock must trade at that price within the next 5 days for your pick to be activated.

If the stock price gaps over or does not trade at that price during intraday swings you are not qualified.

The challenge plays till fridays close where I will calculate who won and post it on the thread.

The reward is yours to keep! The experience of fine tuning your ability to select a stock that is going to go higher. ( and that is cash in the bank for you) and of course bragging rights that you won..

Rules

1. stock priced between 2.00 - 5.00

2. volume of no less than 100k daily

3. entry price must be acheived during daily market 9:30 - 4:00 times (no pre market or after hour prices allowed)

4. no cramer picks from friday's show

5. one ticker per forum member

6. a ticker can be used once per challenge - if you want to use the same ticker for next week you must call it first after Friday's market close (4:00 est)

7. once an entry and ticker is selected and posted, there is no changing the entry or ticker.

8. entries for next challenge opens at Friday's market close (4:00 pm EST) and closes at midnight Sunday (12:00 pm EST)

I'm in. When do we start?

jacobnbr1
12-10-2005, 11:29 AM
we will start this week. you will have till sunday night at midnight to have your ticker and entry price posted. the stock price must trade at the price you pick during open market conditions ( no pre or after market prices will count) ( use it like a limit order)
i see we got a sticky! ( thanks thierry) i need thierry to edit the rule page and input the bold text i just wrote.

this is a great exercise, the fact that this is "emotion free" will change your mindset.

i will make a rule sheet later that should be the sticky.

post your picks here, you can throw in why you think it will go up if you want. we will check the line up each night until friday.

alright! thats it. welcome aboard all. lets have fun :D

i will pick ( look) at 3.35. it will have to come in a bit.

Excellent idea, jacob.

If I could make a suggestion...or rather, a request, really...for those of you who are inclined to do so (it'd be tedious to make it a 'rule of the game', and should be entirely voluntary), feel free to post why you choose the entry points you do. For those of us who are new to trading, it'll help us both to better understand the market and to hone our own personal trading systems (which doubtlessly need it...I've learned thus far more or less when a stock is about to turn the corner, but as for picking specific entry points, well, I'm lousy at that.)

Again, thanks for the thread, jacob. I'll be keeping an eye on it.

it really is a hard game to play. just imagine you have to pick a stock that has to move higher in 5 days, what a skill builder. surprised you didn't pick (eght) it has got some sympothy for the cbb deal.

Contest over! My stock is up $0.08 cents already. Game, set, match.

As for the logic part of my selection, I really don't know much about technical analysis yet and with a 1-week time frame this was little more than a hail-mary based on a small spike on friday with increasing volume on a stock near its 1-year low.

i can't enter you for the rules say i can't.
you will have to expand your mind alittle and find a stock that will move in 5 days. if you want to beat my pants off, i picked (look). go compare look to gte from monday to today and tell me who is up

i aint hosting this cause i think im the best, just want to help build skills in everyone. i use scans and all kinds of crap to look for stocks that move in 5 days. that would be the perfect paycheck job. (imo) oh yes and real money! how long have you been waiting or in this gte position to rise? as per this challenge, reflects i would have truly bought look at 3.35 as a limit order.( but really i would have in real time waited for green and then bought) but the challenge wants the exact entry. therfore i can't really say i am up in look, but it's a good feeling to see .03 cents away from entry and a very nice rally afterwards. :D

OK, that's fine. You have too many restrictive rules for my taste and don't know why you would put such low price ranges on, either, since there are so many good stocks people could build their skills on, if that was really your intention... it shouldn't matter what the stock is going for, what should matter is where it is going, right? At any rate, it's your party, so party on. I'm not that big on games, anyway.

man! you like giving me a hard time or what? i just started somewhere.
we can't really class any stock together. lets just focus on the small ones and then we can have a challenge on the 50. to 100 stocks.
i focused on small stocks because that is common stocks being picked here.

Actually, these stocks have nothing to do with Mad Money, but neither do most of your posts on here. You don't stick to topics or rules, but you either hold others to yours, by the letter, or exclude them. That's why you got a hard time, you asked for it.

Deepinwonder,

This forum is the one for forum member's own stock ideas, not meant as a discussion of Jim Cramer's picks. The other forum is for a general discussion of Cramer's picks and ideas.

Also, setting out a parameter for the stock price is fairer because low priced stocks will go up more on a percentage basis, statistically.

C'mon, you guys, kiss and make up!

I am not mad, Thierry, but statistically, they are all the same if you use percentages to gauge your gain. I just thought it odd that one of the people who follows the topic *the least* on this board would throw someone else out of a game, for being one day late and not following his topic to the letter. It seemed hypocritical and unfair. I thought this board was about Cramer, you use that title to attract people, anyway. My mistake, sorry.

It would sure be educational for those of us who are learning if anyone would be willing to write a few lines beneath their pick to share how found it and why they decided upon it.
It seems like there is a lot of collective knowledge here and some of us could learn a lot from others.
Thank you!

No problem asking questions just make sure you do your own research on any stock talked about on message boards. Lots of great info exchanged on these message boards. This is how i picked immu for the contest. First of all i had the stock back in the late 90's and did very well with it. About a month ago it came up on my screen as it was starting to get some attention and moved up to 1.80 from the 1.60 area. Then the news started coming out so i got in and have been adding on the way up. The group is starting to pick up too which is a plus as most biotech stocks are way down from their highs of the late 90's. I don't know if immu will ever get back to 40 that all depends on their drugs and how well they do in trials. I do know this traders will run this stock up on news in the short term and investors will hold for the long term in case they do come thru with that blockbuster drug. Hope this helps

Most people won't understand what you mean by "came up on my screen". Can you explain that?

chinaman711
12-15-2005, 01:07 PM
Screen= my streamer---I watch about 100 stocks thru out the day many are stocks i know like immu xing cxti sify cwpc on and on. When you sit there all day watching these stocks some will catch your attention on a given day and thats what immu did it caught my attention about 2 months ago. Today several have caught my attention CXTI CWPC MIVT and of course IMMU. MIVT just hit a new day high and looks good but the 1 that really looks interesting is CXTI as there was not much volume all day and a big seller at 1.75 and in the last 1/2 hour the 1.75 seller was taken out and some volume came in. So needless to say i got some at 1.75 just in case it runs back over 2 again. JUst hit 1.78 so we will see what happens the rest of the day. CWPC is my oilsands long term play stuck here at 2.04-2.05 but a buyer has been pick up alot of shares at 2.05 today time will tell on this 1. Good luck

For my pick Cytogen (CYTO) I first heard about it from Optimus25 saying he made some money off it a few years back. When Scottrade went 21st century and finally let you edit the watch list, I added it to my pharmaceutical one. Like chainaman and probably most everyone else, I have 75-100 stocks that I keep track of every day and CYTO caught my attention when it was up a decent percentage last friday on high volume. Plus, the company is local to where I live so I chose them.

pietistic
12-15-2005, 03:36 PM
I chose NAPS because I've been following it since it bottomed a few week ago. I found it because the RSI(2) was less than 1. It clearly already made a run since I saw it, but I noticed what could be a bottoming pattern so I picked it for this contest.

I qualified on Tuesday @ 3.50 and it's gone down since it peaked on Tuesday around $3.70. However, I'm still bullish on it and I consider this pullback only a correction, bear trap, and/or getting out weak hands.

IMMU a very nice close at 2.59 i sure hope it gaps up in the morning as i added at the close. CXTI very nice close too as there was a big buyer that came in today and i hope he is back tomorrow to push it thru 2. Good luck

My pick was from the assumption that the auto market is about to rebound from its previous downward slope. My estimate didn't calculate just for this week but for the weeks to come. It has been a down week for HAYZ but its alright, at least I don't own it.

I'm sharpening my skills for next week's round already.

here is the line up and winners- this shows everbodys data. the final top three winners are posted at the bottom

pillsbury (fnsr) entry price@ 2.00 final close price 2.30 ( thats a final 15% increase) great job!

jacobnbr1 (look) entry price@ 3.35-(3.41 was the lowest it went-not qualified) final resting place 4.11. (that would be 19.4%) nice! too bad.

dmanos (cbb) entry @ 3.78 final close price 3.75 ( thats a decrease of .08%) not a bad looser, it is a well tried position that did not loose that much. good job

themenace (hayz) entry price@ 3.90 final close price 3.48 (ouch! that is a decrease of 10.8%) we need to refine what we play. look for an inplay stock or a stock that is about to bounce from support. we will help you sir.

vthokiens (cyto) entry price@ 3.10 final close price 3.39 ( not bad! that is an increase of 9.4%, still better than the bank rates) nice job

chinaman711 (immu) entry price@ 2.30 final close price 2.47 ( thats an increase of 7.4 % and still better than the bank) nice job

pietistic (naps) entry price@ 3.50 final close price of 3.45 ( thats a decrease of 1.4%) still a position tried without major loss. nice job

so the final positions line up looks like this.

1st place - pillsbury (fnsr) with a gain of 15.0% :D

2nd place vthokiens (cyto) with a gain of 9.4% :D

3rd place chinaman711 (immu) with a gain of 7.4% :D

top three placed with + gains. maybe mr.thierry martain could give a temporary aviator to the winner to show his status for the week that was? what do you think thierry?

I have 3 strong plays for next week but one of them wont take off till thursday. I think all the news last week on immu will send the stock higher but it might take a few months. As i said i had this stock back in the late 90's when it had a real nice run to 40. Long term the company has alot going for it and i do hope they come thru with their lupus drug as thats what got me into the stock back in the 90's. I almost picked CXTI as the big buyer was back in friday buying the stock. If cxti can get thru 2.10 then imo it will see 3 plus and i will look to add if it can clear the 2.10 area with some volume. IMMU closed at 2.47 friday and it better get back over 2.60 as i added to it at 2.55 and 2.59 so my pick is immu at 2.47. Now if cxti gets to 3 during the week then i change my pick to cxti ( just kidding ) I will stick with immu at 2.47. Good luck and congrats to the winner last week nice pick nice job.

Are you going to have more of these games?

I play similar games on another chat board and I keep track of the games and winners. I will also keep track of the winners from this board. I have been keeping track of stock games since August for another board and the game tracker is helpful for members to see who has won the most games. I will be keeping track of the winners from this board on my stock site.

here is my pick. (ugne) @ 4.30 :)
this was generated on a trend continuation scan i done, it finds stocks that have pulled back and have continued on with the trend. it should be a safe bet for gains. this is the first time i ran a live followed paper trade of this scan. we will see how it does 8O

the_menace: try going to www.stockfetcher.com and looking it over. it is a very nice useful site for picking stocks. there is a membership fee if you join, but the site should let you browse around and look at scans that are 5 days old. there is also a board to discuss what works and filter exchange ideas  this should be the right perscription for you sir! remember! confidence is what makes a trader, no guessing allowed.
also, it is not what you trade, it is how you trade it... (tro)
now i will get criticized for being a " know-it-all" from someone! i just have confidence in what i do or feel. :D whats wrong with that?

pietistic gets the thanks for sending you to stockfetcher :D

I'm a tad confused by da 2.00 rule because the one I want to run is currently trading above 2.00, but me entry price will be below 2.00 since I believe there is a chance my price target for this dawg in me favorite long term sector will get hit this week, anywho, if I can enter a 2.00+ stock at a sub 2.00 tawget I will run IPIX at 1.60 pending fo dis week.

OK, if that's the case then I will run with ANLT right at 2.00 pending and see if it confirms the high from 12/7-12/8 at 3.30+ off the base it has been setting up this past week. Long termers should be aware that ANLT will retest 1.20, just as EGHT is a sub 1.00 stock, just as NMGC is a sub 2.00 stock. :D

Not to divert traffic away from this site, but perhaps "we" should just start a competition at the "Virtual Stock Exchange":

* Create your own virtual stock league!
Start your own private competition for your friends, colleagues and students

Start with a fantasy portfolio and trade stocks listed on the NYSE, NASDAQ, and AMEX exchanges. Conduct limit and stop orders, build your own private competition and more!

p.s. Why didn't I just register the competition there? Well .. this is my first post here. Anyway, I like the idea.

Here's da midweek TA scoop on the top 3 at this juncture.

IMMU is in the buy mode and will probably take out 2.80+ before it falls. I think it has a shot at 3.00. If I was an oddsmaker I would give IMMU the best odds of the current leaders.

DPII will retest the 2.30 area but is still in the buy mode. If it can continue to make gains it could be the winner but it can also fail at any time. A great paper trading stock at this point, but I wouldn't personally buy at this level.

ANLT will retest the lows in the future. But as of right now the recent 3.30ish high still needs to be taken out. It is tough to decipher whether or not this rocket will have to settle out, signal buy, and selloff before the next rally or if it will switch as quickly back into buy mode as it just did into sell mode. :D When this stock ANLT, GTE, EGHT, and NMGC, all make the next run they could take out recent highs on each, those be nice moves people! :D I'll now give EGHT a decent shot of rallying since it took out 2.10 which was a low that needed to go, plus the OBV is a -10million which means fokes is giving up. A quick fall of EIGHT to 1.50 would be a worthwhile day to swing trade speculation from current levels. But methinks it's run foist. Let's see.

Hope yuns doan mind me giving my take on some of da playas. This is a stock opinion site, isn't it? :D

OK, let's see how long it takes me to take my initial $10000 stake and run it into the ground by making a new pick each week and betting my entire bankroll on it! Based on my 8.5% return from last week I'll take my entire $10850 and put it on XIDE at 2.75 pending. XIDE is now below 4.20 support which also happens to be the area it just tried to break through off da 52 week low of 3.47 from last week. The first sign that fokes was giving up was da foist gap just yesterday. Now we gots fokes a guessin as evidenced by the fact that OBV is a rising off the 3.45ish low from that gap. What are those buyers gonna do if XIDE now breaks below da 52 week low? My bet is that they panic. I'd be there between 2.60 and 2.75 in real $$$ maybe even, never mind this paper $$$. :D But let's see how far gambling that my target doesn't get toasted let's my bankroll last, just fo fun! :D

That's purty "upstanding" of you to track the results! The only improvement I could see would be to award 3 points for 1st, 2 for second, 1 for third place finishes and then keep a running total of points. If you do that then visitors will be able to track additional great stock pickers becasue of high point totals, instead of just wins. Getting da win every week will prove to be veeeery difficult. :D

Thanks for each day without that expert stock picker rating Thierry. I blush just contemplating it, for I was just lucky, as is the case with past and future winners. What's next, guru for two time winners, or supreme for three timers? If you must, go ahead and install it, and I will live with it for a week, with the knowledge that I do not have near the expertise or knowledge of the whiz's in whose midst I find myself. If only the week was as good to my real world portfolio.

No, I meant 2.75 on XIDE. And the more I look at it the less I think that even 2.75 will be low enough! I might luck out but my entry target is still above my "new thinking" low by appx 10-20%. My guesstimation is that da Naz is going to experience a second gapdown as early as today. Watch da VIX as it approaches 10.75ish, if it can hold that area or higher I think the trap door opens up on da Naz fo round 2. I'm also thinking that the hedgies will rally em into the end of the year. Especially with GOOG. If they can make it to Jan they can sell and not have to pay taxes until 2007 so I think we are in for a setup. Most of my plays going into salamie sequence of a new 52 week low experience that premature bounce. You just experienced it with SCLN for instance. WPTE did it. IIG did it. GTE did it. So now I am trying to guage a premie move like that with XIDE and trying to pick the initial bottom. Fun to do cause it keeps da pawts o da machine well-oiled!

I have 3 picks this next week NVLT IMMU and ONXS. NVLT had buyers in the last hour and really looks good for next week. IMMU nice volume today should see 3 plus next week. ONXS was real strong today as CHINA is trying to make a deal with them. I hope immu rockets thru 3 as im holding it long term or at least until the deal is announced. Im also holding NVLT long term as i think the biotechs will do well but my pick next week is ONXS at 4.30 on the hope that they can work out a good deal with CHINA. well put english man. the scan cannot determine fundies, although i often think the companies release news when a stock price is near a critacle support level.??? i have no proof of these types of patterns but i have seen it time in and time out. for sure i was lucky on that pr release :D

I told ya GTE would eventually make a run to that recent nonconfirmed top! :D I actually played it at de udder site with a buy on Th into da close at 2.15. Then I tripled my bet on the opening break and got in at 2.02. Sold the 20K shares I bought at 2.02 for 3.82 and then sold da rest at 3.68! Not too chabby but I have no idea why me net portfolio gain for da month only rose to +8.20%. :? BTW, as of right now 2 of the 3 I mentioned that could sky to confirm recent tops after 30%+ retracements have just about completed their missions, GTE and NMGC. You assume method in my madness?? 8)

sure! i think you are doing great, do you use a scan? if you are not you need to write one for what you see on the charts. you can adjust your methods alot easier that way... alot of the ones i pick i only want at a certain price, or if they have bounced off that price. scans help assist in that method- example gte ( and i know they had the deal) but if you look on a chart you will see support at 2.00 and i figured it would bounce there.
a scan led me to that one. but luck was really on my side cause i suspected it to reach 2.00 on wendsday or thurs and hopeful gains from there instead of selling off all week and friday at 11:00am the pr hit and the stock went crazy. funnie  that was from an oversold scan with a sell slope that is normally pretty accurate.

I had GTE in my sights but I had a lower entry target and so basically missed it!

I don't think I'm doing anything anyone else isn't doing - but you're right I'm just looking at charts and I'm not using a scan. I just look at stocks in the price area and see where it looks like lower resistance levels are and also look for changes in volume, and whether there's a recent history of volitility in the price. I set up alerts in scottrade because I obviously can't watch them all all the time. It's not rocket science!

When you say "write a scan" - in what?? You mean in java or vb?

Luc1Grunt
01-02-2006, 11:05 AM
English, you can build a scan at wealthlab.com and use it as a watch scan and backtest tool. I use several of the user submitted scans, but still scratching my head on some of the codes and usages. fascinating tool.

i hardly ever discuss anything there, i just peek in and read from time to time. my screenname is the same as here. also i have used a couple of filters there but i have tweaked them to my desire. most times a guy makes a scan for what he needs and does not meet your needs, you can change them easily for what you want to do. follow THE RUMPLED ONE for help.

Darnit, so much fun with family visiting, forgot to enter this week. But said goodbye at the airport, so watch out next week. Thank you Chinaman, for the LRT, which I still hold. Otherwise my mad money would still be in SLS, and losing money.

Make sure you watch for the news at the end of the month on LRT as it has been real nice to trade. If they pay a divd. again the stock should run up a buck if they say no divd. look for a drop of 50 cents. Love to trade LRT. Good luck and watch for the news IMMU ONXS XING coming soon.

Time for CWPC to get going as it has been stuck in the 2.40 to 2.50 range. With oil going higher and cwpc to put out news one of these days on their drilling results it time this stock gets going again. Im still in ONXS as it came right back after telling CHINA no deal. Who knows maybe china will come back with a better offer if not tech stocks look to be hot for a while and some are starting to make a comeback. Maybe ONXS can get back to $150 but of course i will be out at 6 7 and 8 and leave 140 bucks on the table. Keep an eye on another oilsands play DOIG should have news out soon. Good luck and good job ucbanker.

Actually, it's "worry-free" investing :D which is when you can buy/short and not shivagits about the short term swings cause you know what will happen over the longer term. Regretfully, not a single stock on this week's list qualifies as a worry free investment since all of them will be getting slammed lower in the not too distant future, I'm hoping I can just keep my pony holding steady for a possible late week surprise and a run to da finish. There is still that nonconfirmed trend high at 3.30 on EIGHT after all. This list of dawgs looks purty good right in cheeeya after 2 days of trading. Otay, not gonna give up on EGHT just yet. It did slip into sell mode but I'm wreckin it'll signal buy on Tue. Hopefully it'll sell off a tad after that signal which would be bullish. At this point 1.98 or there abouts looks like da numba that should hold and taint nuthin on da chawt that says the 1.91 recent low needs to go. Plus the Th high is a nonconfirmed top so we knows it's gonna be gettin through there at sometime in da future. Of course EGHT is eventually a sub 1.00 stock so bad news can still brang er down in a heap. I can't take a price below 2.00 according to da rules so I'll take EGHT again but this time I'll go below da mawket at 2.00. After 2 plays with my 8.50% gain and my 3.80% loss my 10000 inital bankroll stands at 10438 (to da nearest dallah).I'll risk the entire bankroll on EGHT with this call that EGHT is never enough!

I think you meant Englishman. He picked one last week that was trading at the tippy top and it didn't get back up until the last day. Your pick AERTA is almost as good as his was except that you will probably luck out and it will fall and keep falling and never hit your target entry price. That way you won't end up wit a big or little loss, but a loss nonetheless. Unless you unluck out and it hits 2.38 on the open of course! Doan let my negativity persuade you to change yer pick. I'm sorry BOO, I haven't been paying enough attention to your posts. I about fell over when I looked again to find that you shot above the market. I had my mind set for some reason that you had tried for a timid lowball price that hadn't hit. Then I look and see it was just the opposite, you picked a stock that come UP to your price. But wait, I gotta go back and re-read the rules, because I think I'm still missing something...

Funny what old age does to you, because I had forgotten the rules already. I was out a week because I forgot to enter, and this week, somehow I was under the assumption that if your target was above the price you were automatically qualified, which you would have been. I'm straight now, and in fact, have raised my estimate of your bravery up a notch or two.

lets see how this week closes out! what a bad week, i sure am glad i do not make a living from being a trader.
although when you look at the charts of the markets they tell you to expect a drop. what about that appl dropping 3 and some change today? i would love to end this trade in appl, i am tired of seeing the ticker on my screen. i sold the calls and i am looking to off-load the puts as soon as i reach target( whenever that will be). let this be a learning experiance to me. never go short unless the (ma) has been broken, and never try to guess the top or bottom, only guess when support and resistance will allow you to speculate, and if not? walk away. when you are wrong you have to lay out more cash to correct the vital error you made, which made my stake in appl about 20% of my portfolio and in both directions.... never again. too much time. too much headache. too much time focusing on one stock. never again...lol!! you can work a simple system like the chart guru has with minimal effort and only hold for days. I be working on a system for myself of filter scans that will work well in bull markets. i may take the sidelines from this game to fine tune it, but i will still update the challenge.

Stankin EGHT! widdlin down me bankroll ova heeeya! :D In my post when I picked it I mentioned that I would have looked for EGHT to break below 2.00 but since I was restricted by the 2.00 price rule fo da game I went with 2.00 as me entry price last week. I would have actually ran EGHT at 1.91 last week because I thought that would hold. And I still think EGHT will rally through at least 2.15 so no damage done really, except that my bankroll has now dwindeled to 9864 based on the 5.5% loss from my 10438 bankroll. That means I need a winner this week. 8O My final target for where I would personally buy EGHT is well below 1.00 so I will wait to post about it ova at the other board. But EGHT is well worth watching for anyone who is adept at spotting rallies. For this next week I'm gonna run with TCG's DCN. I never followed this stock until now. I see it is at a 52 week low and I am basing my entry target on the only trend bottom that shows up on da 20 day chawt which is at 7.60. I know nothing else about DCN. It is getting ready to signal buy possibly. If it does and it sells off it would be bullish. I am making my entry target a sheer guess. My entry target will be slightly less than 50% of the price of that only trend low I mentioned, 7.60. Put me down for DCN at 3.75 fo da whole shebangy! $9864!! 8O

Try and catch 60 minutes sunday night on the story of the oil sands in canada. I think this is just the beginning for some of these small oil companys who will be going after all that oil and gas in canada in the years to come. Check out the local newspaper too Fort McMurray today as there is alot of info you can pick up from the newspaper about the oil boom up there in that area. CWPC looks to be the best l/t play that i have found so far but im sure there are others up there that have not been noticed yet. Smaller companys like DWOG or even smaller POGI one of their jr. partners. DOIG finally got noticed thur and fri and im looking for more next week as oil looks to go higher in the future. Oil stocks the place to be nexk week imo so good luck and lets hope for a better market monday.

I'll try giant JDSU @ 2.95. And BOO, I hope you are dreamin' when you think DCN is gonna hit your 3.75 target, since I got a thousand real at 4.20 and you are causin' me a weekend of worry now, especially with the news last night.

I didn't realize that DCN was an autoparts supplier. In many cases I have bought stocks simply because da chawt looked good (bad to yuns guys  ) without even knowing what to heck da company does fo a livin! Looks like da last wave coming down on F, GM, VC, and this little doggie DCN. But my entry target was in fact a guess based on me 50% rule and da last major trend bottom on da chawt near 7.60ish, plus the possibility that a buy signal comes in and it sells off further after that signal, which of course would be bullish.

lucigrunt imgn not qualified

xboilermaker jdsu qualified and in- down .03

chronicddl hdy not qualified

englishman26 sgu qualified and in- down .06

gunther bdco qualified and in- down .01

chinaman711 dwog :? :? you left me in a hard mental state of mind china. but i read your post and said "buy on the open or at 2.13"that means i treat it as a market order and filled you at 2.14. although i do not like this method of entry cause i am not sure in real time market order you would have been filled at 2.14. if you can see what i am saying? you may have been filled at like 2.20 or 2.25? looking at the intraday it was at 2.14 for one minute and jumped to 2.20sh never to retrace, i would call the market order being processed at 2.20? any other thoughts??? lets talk about it. any ways it is up like .37

in short review of placement with no data as it really does not matter right now.

1st chinaman711 if qualified

2nd lilbri

I can see where a buy on open order could be a big PITA for the track moderator to keep track of. If Chinaman said buy on the open or at 2.13, I think in fairness to Chinaman you should have come back and clarrified whether or not that type of entry was valid. Since you didn't and there is no rule that says he couldn't take the opening price I guess he gets the 2.14 opening price. If I was you I would just stick to having fokes set a target entry price that must get hit during the week. That's real $$$ trading. Just my opinion ova heeeya. :D

I thought about asking what was it, 2.13 or the open, then thought it was naturally 2.13, since the rules say an entry price must be specified. I would like to say "at the open" every Monday, which is automatic qualification, but jacob has dropped the ball by not asking for a ridgid price beforehand. On the other hand, there was a price stated, and that has to be enuogh said. Rules are rules. Sorry chinaman, just my opinion.

i will have to get with tierry and get the rule changes to a exact price of entry must be obtained.

in re: to chinaman, i really do not have a problem with a market order if one wants to play like that. it is certainly hard to call a market order though. i honestly do not think he would have been filled at open price.
i think he would have been filled at 2.25 as the stock hung there for around a 1/2 an hour.
i am going to call his market order filled at 2.25 and change the rule of entry from here on out....

xboilermaker

I couldn't understand why (like a market order) was there anyway, because once an entry price is specified it is not "like a market order".

Well my pick is CWPC @4.15 or whatever the opening price is.

that is what his post was... what i gather from his post is he wanted to chase it up and get filled at a qualified point no matter what the price. right?
actually- here is the deal chinaman and others:

chinaman posted:CWPC closed at 4.10 i will take it as my pick at whatever the opening price is if thats ok. Oil sands story getting out watch 60 minutes sunday night.

DWOG @ 2.13 after doing a little more TA it looks to do better in the short term. So my pick is DWOG 2.13 good luck all

so after all that i play judge and jury and tell you this as the rule states:
no changing the picks when submitted.

so being his original pick was cwpc and it would have qualified i am rendering his pick as un-qualified and void... sorry chinaman711.

Actually Jacob, it appears Chinaman was looking for 2.13 after all based on this post I am replying to. Based on his 2.13 entry target I guess DWOG isn't even in the running yet since it only traded to 2.14 yesterday. But you figure it out cause I am really confused! Looks like Chinaman picked CWPC too. I didn't know we could even change our picks but I guess so. :?

i am refering to rule #7. once an entry and ticker is selected and posted, there is no changing the entry or ticker.
you can click the first page of the pickers challenge and see the rules...

The confusion came in with jacob's post suggesting the pick was "dwog at 2.13 or the open", but nothing about the open was actually mentioned in the post. And since there was never an actual pick anyway, because entry price without provisions must be stated, he never changed his pick.

No problem its just a game and my real mad money is on DWOG and thats what counts. Sorry for the confusion
