Hi, I'm obviously new here and I came across this forum in part because my summer is extremely boring and my online internship is completely retarded and mind numbing. I feel like I might as well try something worth while and related to what I want to do with my life so here I am.
I'm going to be a senior at Penn State majoring in Economics. I don't have any experience at all with the stock market minus maybe one or two stock picking competitions for fun. But the stocks I picked were solely based on my personal thoughts about the company and not any real research.
So, where do I start? Are there any tutorials on how to analyze graphs? maybe a list of words that I should know the meanings of? I have a basic knowledge of that but I guess you can assume I was born yesterday. Any programs out there that can make graph analysis less of a pain in the ass AND is noob friendly?
Lastly, i've been looking at GM's stock lately.. and was wondering if it would be a good idea to buy.
