RIMM splits 1:3 with a record date of 17 Aug and effective date of 20 Aug. 186 million outstanding shares to 558m shares outstanding on that day. Run up will likely continue until then (all variables remaining constant, LOL!). After that??????

AAPL: Brand hype and earnings. With the continued money pouring in from oversees in this bull market, both are likely great, short term trades. Long term????? I personally hold only a few small caps in my long term account along with phat dividend large caps. AAPL and RIMM don't make that cut (to my detiment in many cases, but that's my prob).

I trade RIMM daily (watch for possible selloff today).

ok, To me its Rimm...Apple IMO is just a hype right now.. I know some ppl that own the Iphone and it sucks.. bad reception and the touchscreen went bad on them already. But they do have the mac and other products so they should still fare well.

On the other hand you have RIMM, Now it took RIMM 8 years to enter china.. so if APPL tries to enter china how far a head is RIMM? plus with china, we all know they are tech guru's... 5,000 blackberry's were on back order the day they announced they would start to sell in china... i think youll see a split but then once their earnings come out in sept they will jump like they did in the 1st qtr. this is just IMO.

I think Cramer said to take some profits off the table from both. Maybe buy back after their earnings call.
