HOKU strong buy once it drops back down

all the stock seems to do is go up a $1 in a day and then it recedes in price the next few days.

After the options expire and the earnings call I expect it to drop down to 9$. Then it'll be as strong a buy as ever, at least I think.

Im looking for 15 on HOKU as the group is hot and look for ASTI to catch up to HOKU. Good luck but imo hoku will not see 9. Once hoku clears 12.75 it should continue it run higher imo.

Hmm, I thinking either 10 or 9. Do you think there is any chance of an upgrade if it reaches those levels, as it is no longer overvalued?

Im not in HOKU right now as i sold mine on the run up and went into dsti and asti and the z's. I like hoku l/t and would look to get back in for a trade under 12 with support at 11.93.Right now im fully invested so i need something to run like ASTI and ASTIZ also holding and trading BQI. I still think if hoku closes over 12.75 it will see 15 but of course the group needs to stay hot.

Its down big today... 5%. I think perhaps 2 more days of panic selling will bring it down to 9$. The only thing that worries me is that production on the materials has not actually began yet, so whats to keep this stock afloat? Thoughts?

CC for earnings tomorrow... I think maybe your right Cman, I dont see this dropping too much farther. Everyone is expecting bad earnings, but the CC may provide positive data on the contracts, meaning tomorrow could be a positive day for Hoku.

I would not hold HOKU into the earnings and cc best to wait for the news imo. Could go either way depending on what they say. Solar stocks taking a hit today in a good market, oil down over a buck.

cman.... I really want to believe this stock will continue to go up, but there is no production for another year, beyond momenteum this stock is dead. If you have any reasons I do not know of, please share.

Earnings were good but they lowered guidance, stock is coming back --------HOKU Scientific beats by $0.05; guides Q2 and FY08 revs below consensus (11.26 +0.12)

Reports Q1 (Jun) loss of $0.02 per share, $0.05 better than the Reuters Estimates consensus of ($0.07); revenues fell 4.3% year/year to $1.1 mln vs the $1.1 mln consensus. Co issues downside guidance for Q2, sees Q2 revs of $200k-$500k vs. $1.96 mln consensus. Co issues downside guidance for FY08, sees FY08 revs of 3-6 vs. $7.58 mln consensus. In addition, the co expects that it will need to increase its efforts in supporting a polysilicon manufacturing and PV systems installation service business, develop its products, expand its corporate infrastructure, prepare for the increased production of its products and evaluate new markets to grow its business. The result is that the co expects its costs to increase significantly. Based upon projections, the co expects its financial results for the second quarter ending Sept 30, 2007 will be a loss.

The thing is, they are not producing anything yet, the stock has to move on the momenteum of the construction.

After listening to the cc and reading their earnings report my guess is the stock will go lower. Lots of questions went unanswered and they have the same problem dsti has. THEY NEED TO RAISE $$$$ TO CARRY OUT THEIR PLANS so imo hoku has lost its mo for now and could drift lower alot lower if they don't get the $$$'s soon. Better plays then hoku imo, ASTI was heading for 10 and this market really tanked in the last hour to kill that. DSTI was going higher too and then sold off as did FSLR which was having a great day. Still waiting for news on dsti. IMO the cc was not good and i may short hoku tomorrow. Best to trade this market right now

Hoku is getting a tad bit oversold. Watch yourself. I think there will be much better opporunitys to buy this stock at lower prices, when the time comes, this stock is gonna fly.

Might be a trade but i would not hold hoku overnight. That earnings report last night and then the cc will take hoku lower imo. The cc was a joke, several times they said we can't comment on that but the big warning came when someone asked about insider selling of the stock and after avoiding the question he said well i do have an x wife. As long as hoku gets the loans it needs, around 150 million they will do well but if they can't get the money they are in trouble imo.

I only heard parts of the cc, but didnt they mention getting the financing from contracts alone? Perhaps hinting at a new contract coming soon?

They said they were still in talks and would not say much about where the loans would come from. They have until oct 17 to come up with the 150 mil or take a chance on losing a contract. Im short for now on a bad cc

I doubt they would receive contract commitments from companies if the risk was so huge, no company would invest in a company to produce materials that didnt even have a factory yet if they didnt believe they would get the financing.

The outcome here lies entirely within the financing, we could see 20$ soon.

There was a date attached to those contracts. I agree with what you are saying and if they get the money then hoku will do well. Right now its looks weak to me and im going to trade it lower but i will be back in when things turn around for hoku.

I like hoku as an options play but not as a stock. The company is extremely volatile and seems to jump up $1 in 1 day every once in a while. I like a quick profit in options.

Should hear something by oct. on the loan. Rates just got cheaper today and could be lower in another month. Who knows maybe they will issue stock. The future looks bright for these small solar companys but for now the action is in mortage companys.

well, short term, I've got $12 as resistance

but it SHOULD (based on the technical pattern) make a new 52 week high in the next few weeks/months

Yes, very much so. This is too much a day trading stock, the profit taking is getting to it.

Well, we still have financing to look forward to, hopefully a nice jump up to 15$.
