Ron Paul is great. its a shame most folks dont understand what he is talking about. maybe its for the best- the ensuing riots could prove devastating.

That's a good point, I'm not sure if I'm ready for the revolution right this minute, but I'd still like to live to see it;)

Did anyone see Ron Paul this morning on MSNBC? When asked what the problem in America is, he said :"The problem isn't America, it's the American Empire." He hits the nail right on the head as he lists place after place we are shitting money down various foreign rat holes. If Russia is no longer our enemy, why do we spend billions on bases in England and Germany? If Japan is the third largest economy in the world, why are we picking up the tab for defending them by occupying Korea? If Japan is no longer our enemy, why do we spend billions on bases that surround them as if they were still enemies? If Saudi Arabia has amassed untold trillions from us suckers, why are we picking up the tab for defending them from Iran by our occupation of Iraq? We live in a world of common madness.
Does anyone even discuss the amount of crude oil it takes to keep this thing up? Tanks, jets, ships, jeeps and trucks don't run on water. If we ended this ridiculous empire, we'd cut our oil consumption by an easy 10%.
This Empire as it is, is the product of our allowing the military industrialist to run our government. The sad truth is they have turned our military into the worlds largest business. They control the pentagon, and to a large part the congress. All of this empire has been built on FEAR!! Our most previous administration, truly fed these wolves, and they are now ready to feast once again, now its to replenish or worn down military. When will it end?

Holy grave digging threads Batman!
He is quite right imo, we as a Nation pedal our values on every country that we deem in need of our 'expertise' and you know their leaders must be looking at us with a 'you've gotta be kidding me' look on their faces.

You had a chance to vote for him.
you chose, and defend the polar opposite.
to all of a sudden try and bring peoples attention to him, while defending all that is massiah obama, is quite the pinnacle of hypocrisy
but, perhaps there is hope for you

It's interesting how two seemingly polar opposite characters (Zappa and Paul) can come to the same conclusion about America's fascist leanings. Hopefully this conclusion will become more mainstream. I felt it appropriate to post my thoughts in this thread in memory of the LATE, TonyM, who was similarly like these two gentlemen: grouchy and cantankerous.
Grouchy, cantankerous? Hmm, I always had him pegged for misunderstood and a tad impatient.
