Something wrong with the justice system?

Looks like she was out due to a medical reason and is now on house arrest..

So...I guess by this standard, Scooter should be in jail for just two months?

Maybe two months is enough punishment for admitting to a crime that you didn't commit to protect your boss. It was a kangaroo trial in the first place, and if another opinion is allowed here, I don't think that he should be in for 1 minute. I shall not respond to argumentive replies, just stating how I feel since it was mentioned. And yes, there is something wrong with the justice system.

I agree; I simply only brought Scooter into my post just to put it in perspective.

A possible trade would be CXW or GEO.

Recession proof stocks.

Is annoying dingbat a medical condition?

Just heard on Bloomberg; "Right now Paris Hilton is on her way back to jail and stocks are heading back up, you decide if there's a connection"

Officially, Hilton was allowed to leave jail because of a medical condition. Early speculation was that she couldn't stomach jail food. Then there were reports that incarceration had brought her close to a mental breakdown.

Worse illnesses haven't shortened other inmates' time. If California authorities were going to get cold feet with their effort to prove celebrities don't get special treatment, they never should have given Hilton jail time. If this decision stands, it would be a mockery of American jurisprudence.

Hmm, nevermind then. I thought otherwise; because I was reading another on digg.com how Paris broke her teeth on the bars, and I actually believed it....how gullible am I.

Was it you Tony that said something about people are just going to continue about Paris? Before she got in, when she was in, after she was out, talk shows on what it was like...blah blah.
(EDIT: Haha, seems like that's how it is too on this forum...of course, I started this thread so what am I saying...)

Seems like just another publicity stunt to me, to give that "annoying dingbat" some public attention.

Haha, now that's funny...the chipped teeth thing is a reference from the MTV awards when Sarah Silverman said that they were going to paint the bars to look like dildos and that she would chip her teeth on them.

I'm not sure if I said that here, but I've damn sure thought it. Just like the "stolen" phone video, she's a household name now and that can be turned into money. Madonna used controversy quite well to get her name out there back in the day.

I'm still watching Bloomberg and they have a floor trader saying that they were watching the news at 3:30 and then they rallied and called it the Paris goes back to jail rally....when even the floor traders are paying attention that's saying something for the amount of publicity she's getting.

Hahaha...true that.

And found it, thought it was you who said it, but it was an article. Oh well

So you’re fed up with Paris? Wait till she gets out of jail!
Mitch Albom - May 21, 2007

I’m less concerned about Paris Hilton going to jail than I am about her getting out.

When she gets out, the fawning over her will be even worse, multiplied by the fact that – unlike most moments in her vapid life – there is actually something to talk about. Listen. You can hear it already: What was life like in jail, Paris? How did you survive it, Paris? What did you eat there, Paris? How did the other women treat you, Paris?

Every talk show will claw for her. Every L.A. photographer will have a camera hoisted. When Paris gets out, she’ll be the first person who ever sat in a cell, the first person to endure three hots and a cot, her prison number will be a badge of honor, her orange jumpsuit will fetch huge money on eBay.

....

Found this on Foxnews.com...wow

From an article:
Hilton left the courtroom in tears, screaming, "Mom, Mom, Mom." Hilton was also heard saying "It's not right."
I just bursted out laughing..

(Wait, why am I still talking about her, if I'm ranting about it? Oh the irony..)

I tried to resist responding to this thread for that reason, but as with the market, why go counter-trend?;) (that plus I was bored)

Whatever her condition, it didn't work. She was crying that it's not right when told to return to jail.

I just heard an MSNBC reporter say that in his own defense the LA sheriff stated "he didn't even know who Paris Hilton was". Is that even possible to imagine? I don't think so.
Now on the other side I find myself feeling sorry for Paris, she is a political football and that isn't something likely to happen to Joe sixpack. Seems to me the Sheriff is at fault in this more than anyone else. Making someone go home and then yo-yo her back isn't right and he should be held responsible for clearly not thinking this through. And now his credibility is at question.

That prison is so crowded, for short timers they do one in, one out. A person was released early for Hilton to go in. Hilton was released for someone to come in. Its a common practice, it wasnt special treatment. The Sheriff's department didnt read the judge's order which said she wasnt to be released early though. So back she goes.
Trust me, I hate Hilton but thats the way it works for most short timers at that prison. Cali = shithole.
