Hey everyone,
I am planning to move to St. Louis in the next few months and would like to find a job in the financial services industry. Do you have any suggestions on what type of company to look into or positions that are not well known to the public?

I don't think I want to be an advisor and have to cold call, also they mostly seem to push insurance. I am looking for something that will allow me to use my passion for investing and get me out of my boring job.

Any advice or experiences will help.

thanks

I assume you are a Newbie in this field...

Watching Cramer and "Fast Money" what type of investing appeals to you--write it out--force yourself to be specific

Next, "Google" companies in the area

Go to their web pages, particularly their employment tab

Apply for the lowest level position you can afford to take and will

What you want to do is worm your way in through the backdoor

This will give you a chance to prove yourself in little ways to people who can help your career (and also a chance to suck up to important people)

Titles are not what you want--BUT CONTACTS!!

Read Cramer's "Confessions of a Street Addict," especially how he was hired at Goldman Sachs and how he hired--imagine you are being interviewed by the serious Cramer, for example

You may have to register, but it is FREE and the company does not spam you nor sell your email address

Good luck

Thanks for the info.

I have been trading for several years, but I want to make it part of my real job and not just a hobby that is the reason for the thread. I will check out the website today.
