One thing I have learned is that everyone has their own way of picking a "good stock" some would say yes and some will say no no matter how good or bad it may look to others. For what it's worth... I said yes because it has bounced off a low and has been higher in the past... with earnings on the up it SHOULD go up again. However... past performance doesn't really mean 100% either

Look at the 1 yr chart, it's started a downtrend about the same time it did last year, which coincides with higher gas prices at this time of year, which equals less money for eating out imo. Notic the turnaround point last year? August, which is when oil prices began easing. That's the reason I wouldn't buy it, but you could always sell it.
different company, but i bought morton's (MRT) a little while back. more upscale. i saw what happened to smith and wollenskys and thought mortons might be on someone's shopping list.

I am not seeing an upside catalyst that would give me a good enough reason to pull the trigger here.

I'd wait until the end of Aug to maybe buy. They might fare better than most during the summer since they are an upscale place. The rich will still dine out a lot. $4 gas will be a killer for most retail stores and restaurants the next few months. Maybe MCD will do well since they have that dollar menu. I'm thinking of buying shares of TXRH next Sept.
take a look at the chart for MRT over the last month or so. up 8% today.
