You most likely won't be able to buy an IPO prior to it trading on the exchanges. Institutional's get first dibs. They sell us the scraps.

Or sell to us for a fat profit. IPO's are sucker bait if you're a little guy.

Or have an account with one of the major houses and know your broker and he can probably get you a 100 shares of the IPO you want if your are lucky. Little investors like us is not who the underwriters are looking to sell to sadly.

In my opinion, IPO are not really the best buy unless you really know the company that well. An exception for example, under armour which I already know the product very well and also bought a few of their gears way back. For myself, I need to see financial and income statements first before making judgment. Its pretty risky.
