I'm sorry but I hate this site. I'm not trying to sell you anything, just venting frustration. I got into stock recently and choose this site because of the $4 trade. How naive of me! That $4 gets me a market order only on Tuesday that cannot be priced. Want a real time order to sell? Quadruple the advertised price! You get nothing for recommending friends or family. You get nothing special for inside information or tracking info.

In my move over to Scottrade, I find that my partial shares were cashed out, my account frozen for at least a half of a month, and get a $50 charge for it all. Then I wait another 30 days for the transfer of whole securities.

Does it really take 5 days of initiating the transfer, 1 day to cash out partial shares, 15-30 days to freeze the account, 30 days to transfer, then snail mail a check (3 days or so)? At best, this is almost 2 months to transfer my paltry, newbie account. I hate this site.

how does $1 for limit and market for 90 days sound and then $3 after that... I love it for myself as a rookie but it does have limitation like sharebuilder however... if you buy and sell alot then you are good to go to sogoinvest.com

RESPECTIVELY PRESENTED HERE, you have learned the value of Homework, Homework, and more Homework, beginning with the broker you use, e.g., "Google" the beejeezus out of a broker, as with a stock

Even for me after a year, I am still learning how properly to use Scottrade...I have lost money--very little--learning the very tricks to using Scottrade

I have both Sharebuilder and Scottrade accounts. I use Sharebuilder for my longterm accounts only and for the moneymarket rate. I also use HSBC and some other high interest rate accounts just for this purpose. But since Sharebuilder is what I started with...I decided to keep them and they still remain my favorite for longterm investments
Short term is worth looking into other options. Scottrade is okay, but there is better. If you search through this site you will get some good tips on where to best put your money. Especially if you swing trade.
