GGC- Georgia Gulf

Ok guys, I am 18 years old...I am currently an intern at TD Waterhouse, and first tuned into Cramer a couple weeks back. Well he sounded pretty sure about this GGC so I asked some of the investment advisors about it and with a combined 36 years of invesment experience....no one had heard of it. Well I have always believed in beginners luck so I set up a self directed trading account and purchased 50 shares of GGC. I bought it at 21 a share on the TSE and it actually hit 31/share today. This can't be very common.

I am not even sure why this stock went up so quickly, I just know that Cramer sounded very sure of this one. I also tracked Dupont and it has done well over the last month. Why the chemical stocks?

as a new investor, congrats! but just be careful in the future with your selections. when you say you're not even sure why something went up, that should be a red flag. also, please don't just pick something just because cramer sounded sure of it. i have learned alot from cramer and i think cramer is great to get ideas from, but also do your homework. cramer sounds sure about alot of stocks, but is wrong on alot too! as for your question why chemical stocks?... i think the answer is because natural gas has seemingly topped and is coming down which is a big positive for that group. also, they've been so out of favor and beaten down, along with the decline in nat gas looks like a good bottom. good luck to you!!
