I have reset the trading simulator for March - 1st prize, 2nd and 3rd prizes are trading books. The first prize winner will also have his win displayed under his name in the forum.

If you already played in previous competitions, you already have an account and your can join the March contest with the same username and password by going here (http://vse.marketwatch.com/Game/StartViewGame.aspx?id=OnlineTradersForum). If you have forgotton the game password, which you need to join the March contest, just email me and I will send it to you. (http://www.cramersmadmoney.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=1)

If you are new to the simulator, you can join at anytime. This thread will be used to discuss the game and post updates on the standings.

You start with $100,000 and you can trade stocks long or short. You can only trade stocks above $2.00. Whoever has the highest amount at the close of trading on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, wins.

I'm still getting the February game and results.

Is anyone getting in to the new one?

Also the January game is still showing up in the listing column at the left.

b0b82, it seems like you're actively trading in this sim.

How are you liking it so far? Everything working out for ya?

More likely, it's got to be a math error. Look at daily numbers and percentual changes (focus on 3-18-09 and 3-19-09)

no math error here, but in real life, there would have been about a $200K margin call on the 19th!! But then again, this is not real life, so all is good.

Kind of a weird month on the simulator, when 2/3rds of the way through the month and the leader is at only +7%!!!

He's doing great for a first timer, especially when he is "daytrading" on a simulator with a 20 minute or greater lag!!

I know from conversations with him, and actually watching his trades, that if he would be even higher were it not for some stops and limits that he had in that were not executed by the simulator.

Great job bOb82!!!

I still don't get it. On 18th, net worth negative, daily gain negative. On 19th net worth positive, daily gain negative.

How come, net worth suddenly becomes positive on 19th, despite two huge daily loses on 18th and 19th?

I was waiting to get a margin call myself (was curious to see, what this looks like), since I'm new to the VSE and haven't seen this yet. And now I see, it doesn't exist. 8O

That's why nobody goes all in with margin on a 3x leveraged ETF and hold overnight.

Or at least I hope not.
