I wasn't too thrilled with the replacement, think it's going to be the same old same old, not too sure though. I saw one article that said he is going to lower interest rates of the economy stalls out, which was Greenspan's plan to begin with. I am going to be glad to see Greenie go, being in the construction business... why he felt the need to control prices in our sector and balance the economy on our backs is beyond me.

I think he should be better then Greenspan, most anyone would be. Greenspan had to much control of the market, i know that is part of his job, but gezzzzz!!! Over all i think it will be good for the mkt.
Thinking about getting back into some stocks, but not until Jan i think. Just dont see much out there. Time to look at my 401K and IRA's i guess....

There are opportunities out there. Umhockey I'd be looking to buy a couple of stocks, maybe 25% of your current cash holdings in case the market does rally. If it doesn't then you've only risked 25% of your cash.

BTW, Greenspan could care less about the short term market fluctuations in Stocks and in Real Estate. He's looking into the future and directing this behemoth of a ship (the U.S.) into a direction most beneficial for the economy. Understandably, some of us who have been most affected by the Federal Reserve's current policy will be upset.
...also...noticing that Condo's in my area are finally dropping in price. Not sure if that's the affect of higher rates but more with seller's expectations dropping. Beginning of the year 2 BD 1 Bath condo around $380K now I've been getting emails for the same condos around $330K.

Consumers should be setting prices in a free market, the businesses who have been singled out by Greenspan to carry the load of his policies do not appreciate it, that is for sure. It's not fair, period.

I do think raising interest rates the way he has been doing is a good idea, he just bashes some sectors and talks too danged much. Just do your job and leave the rest to us, thanks.
