Found this list last night and thought some of you might be interested:

The 10 Highest-Rated Stocks Under $10 (according to Investors Business Daily)

1. ENGlobal (ENG) - provides engineering services and systems to the oil industry, busy refining operations account for much of its current order backlog.

2. PetMed Express (PETS) - nation's largest provider of medicines and health products for pets.

3. Capital Title Group (CTGI) - title insurance and escrow services in three hot housing markets: California, Arizona and Nevada.

4. Grey Wolf (GW) - drilling company operating mainly in natural gas fields. Its rigs are in Texas, the Gulf Coast, Rockies and other locations.

5. BTU International (BTUI) - makes equipment for the development of circuit boards, semiconductor packaging, etc.

6. CE Franklin (CFK) - Canadian company distributes oilfield supplies, serving primarily western Canada drilling operators.

7. Odyssey Marine Exploration (OMR) - shipwreck searcher became part of the Russell 3000, the Russell 2000 and the new Russell Microcap Index in July.

8. Mitcham Industries (MIND) - specializes in leasing to energy companies equipment used to search for oil and gas deposits.

9. Winland Electronics (WEX) - makes circuit boards and other electronic components

10. The Leather Factory (TLF) - demand for leather goods is up, as sales at this retailer and wholesaler suggest.

Thanks for the interesting article. The greywolf and CFK interest me. I like mining oil and drilling type stocks.

Thanks for the info Deepinwonder. I've been interested in "penny" stocks for quite awhile now even though the companies on this list are not really considered "penny" it will be interesting to see what they do.

If you find anything on penny stocks, I'd be very appreciative.

Hi Dave, do your homework and pick out a couple of companies you really like. GW wasn't very high on their list, a few weeks ago, and that was long after we all knew how good it was, thanks to LR callers and Cramer.

There are quite a few in the $10-$12 range that look good, too. I can't say, at the moment, because I am considering some for purchase, but when I decide, I'll share the info. :)

I don't know anything about penny stocks. Sorry!
