Do any of you guys have AOL IM? I was thinking we could do the chat thing we were talking about before if people had it, even though some of the other ideas will be better if they can be worked out.

Hey, IM would be cool, but yeah, the chat function on it isn't really too great. On one of the websites I run, I had a great java chat client built into the site that connects to IRC. I just opened a trading site myself (in my sig), and I could put a similar chat client on that if people are interested in doing this. :)

For the record, my AIM is "ronixisx"

Sorry for the double post, but I've set up a nice clean IRC chat for anyone who wants to use it, on my site. There's a big link to it on http://www.addictedtocnbc.com/ , or you can use it directly at this link: http://www.addictedtocnbc.com/irc/chat.html .

People have been coming and going but we've been having good conversation along the way - if you can, I'd just recommend leaving the chat window open for a while, it's easier to catch people that way, and also, the more people we have just hanging around, the more good discussion we can get in. :o

Play StemCells, Aastrom Biosciences Ahead of Bill
Stem cell research has been a hot topic for quite a long time and has continually remained at the center of attention because of the controversial nature of obtaining stem cells and the potential for stem cells to cure numerous diseases and injuries. Back in January, Democrats, who took both chambers of Congress for the first time in twelve years, pledged to increase federal support for stem cell research. While the stem cell issue may have slipped under the radar as other geopolitical issues took hold, new legislation promises to bring it back into the spotlight.

The last Congress passed a bill that would reduce restrictions on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research, by a 253-174 margin. However, President Bush squashed the bill, staying consistent with his position of banning the use of federal money for research that uses fertilized embryos. Yet, stem cell stocks StemCells Inc. (NASDAQ: STEM) and Aastrom Biosciences Inc. (NASDAQ: ASTM) deserve another look as the Senate plans to vote on legislation this month that would defy a presidential veto threat and clear the way for government funding of new embryonic stem cell research. The proposed bills are expected to be voted on April 10 after the Easter recess and according to wire reports, are much more palatable to lawmakers, opponents and other critics of embryonic stem cell research. Shares of these funding hungry companies could easily see a double digit percentage gain (similar to the advance leading up to the past vote on stem cell research), or more, depending on if the legislation is approved.
